4 Meg Business Account, really slow speeds. Tracert is interesting, it's not the normal 'first hop' high latency but the one right after, ominously labelled 'ipc'.

Getting similarly high latencies after the exchange hop. This might not be an Afrihost issue but rather an MTN issue.

Hi guys

We're running some tests to try and replicate this on our end. Investigations will follow shortly :(
 
Latency seems ok for me now but my speeds aren't what they should be.

I've been so used getting 3.2 + Mbps all day long that the current 2Mbps feels like I've been dragged back to the Stone Age.

Sorry about this :( The latency issues should be normalising now - if not resolved all together already.
Please drop me a PM with your info so I can see where the slow speeds are coming in.

I'm also getting 2Mbps, average. Upload speeds are fine. On 4Mbps.
 
Watch out guys.

Windows 8.1 is coming out next week or so. Internet is going to get ****ed up again like the IOS releases.

This is something we've anticipated, we really do hope we'll be in a position to manage the traffic as per normal.
 
Just a quick one, it's just been announced that our very own AfriMan is the winner for the company rep of the year. Well done buddy, VERY well deserved buddy.

It's also an absolute honour to work for a company that's been confirmed as ISP of the year - 3rd year in a row running :D

Some constructive criticism.

You guys need play catch-up a little bit.

Firstly you need to introduce Static IP across the board on all packages.
Secondly you need to allow business accounts to add more than one Static IP
Thirdly you need to look into bonded DSL services, as well as stocking and selling Cisco Routers for Business Clients.

Afrihost & Axxess are the only two ISP's left who do not offer any of the above, you are missing out on a entire segment of the market!

While I definitely agree with you, there are some additional points to consider :)
Static IPs are still a fairly new development from our side - so improvements are bound to come. For now though, we're happy with the amount of sign ups for the Static IPs but still see this add-on as a very niche, business need.

More than one Static IP may also be on the cards, but for now we're still in an early launch type phase.

Bonded DSL, I'm not really sure, VDSL (while still much newer, and we're still waiting for most areas around SA for MSAN roll-outs) still remains a much better priced option for everyone when compared to a bonded solution. We don't have any immediate plans for a bonded solution, but you never know :)
