Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

Afrihost can't be blamed for your wifi issues. Just nose around your router settings and see what's up. Try other devices and reconnect the tablet after manually 'forgetting' your wifi connection.

I've been on Afrihost business for a few months now and I've never had weird page loading issues. And my wifi has been unaffected.

They can actually.

In Durban, so using either it or JHB. I've downloaded around triple what I normally download so that I can see what time things might get shaped as it gives me a good exposure over a lot of days. Like you said, if you always online there is a better chance of seeing when things do get shaped.

Best place to be :)

You would be on the Dbn IPC then I would assume and I hear that it has more capacity in ratio terms compared to CT IPC in particular although I have noticed a radical drop in complaints coming from that side, which makes me think they upgraded or something?

That's a connectivity issue, not a wifi issue. My connection died a few minutes ago and changing to the Google DNS settings fixed it. Credit to the guy who suggested it in the main Afrihost thread.

Hi guys

Sorry about the issues here, looks like we're experiencing some issues with our DNS servers. Google DNS will work though. I'll post some feedback as soon as it lands on my desk

Anyone have any idea why sometimes pages refuse to load and you have to refresh the page a couple of times before it does?

Also anyone know why I can't connect to the internet via wi-fi on my tablet?

Both issues appearing after switching to Afrihost Business.

It's not just on the Business... it's also happening to me on the normal capped accounts.
Been like this for weeks now.
I tried to report it, but they told me everything was fine.
Now today it is far, far worse.

OpenDNS will also work.
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Our team are working hard to have this sorted out quickly.

Can someone give me some feedback regarding gaming on the business uncapped accounts.
I use my account mainly after hours and game on servers in Europe.
On the Afrihost website it mentions that the business accounts are guaranteed to be completely unshaped at all times.
Given that the bundled options work out to about the same as I'm paying at the moment this seems like a good deal.

I have used the business account on GW2 and in most instances had no issues. Over the last 10 days I can only recall 3 DC's, but this could have been very well be caused by GW2.

You are arguing semantics here, not actually helping. Nevertheless the two issues were connected.

Yesterday and the day before every now and then a page doesn't load and you have to refresh it before it does, so while it is a major issue now it seems it happens on a smaller scale too.

We're implementing a solution to have the DNS issues resolved. Shouldn't be much longer now.

For those guys still having issues, please reboot your router. We seemed to have implemented a work around which seems to be working.

Is the workaround using Google's DNS? My Router is still reporting using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 even though I have set my DNS to auto-obtain

We have fixed the error, maybe in a day or two, you'll reset to our DNS.

I think I'm going to stick to the Google DNS. Youtube is faster than ever and everything else is running as fast as I could expect.
