Yes, every block is 30 mins. I'm talking about the gradual drop starting from 8AM with speeds varying over the course of the day. As you can see prior to 8AM it was running at full line speed. It's definitely not higher load on the server that's causing the lower speed - it's a seedbox with 505Mbps upload speed, it can definitely sustain my measly 3.57Mbps download as it has with other accounts I have used over the course of the years.
I'm just asking if this is normal for your network to have speeds drop this much during business hours on a business account.

It's hard to say without more testing. We don't generally run these kind of burnout tests. Strictly speaking seedboxes also violate our AUP, so we're not generally promoting that kind of bandwidth use.

As far as I know, we manage the contention on the network through shaping, which keeps contention at a ratio that we are comfortable with. If we didn't shape, then that might be the case, but we feel we maintain fairly consistent contention to provide a great internet experience.

So could you please enlighten me as to why my downloads are not going over 100kb/s seeing as I am supposed to ALWAYS get my full line speed. I moved over from the home uncapped account to this account to run away from your pathetic shaping on the home uncapped package. Now it seems like I have a similar situation on the business uncapped account. But without you notifying me in the ClientZone?? I am on the 2mb uncapped account. Until last night my speeds have exceeded 200kb/s, but now it will not come close to 100kb/s.. Very strange indeed.

After 280 passes, 0.4% is not really concerning I would say. But I'm not seeing anything near 14% which would be very concerning

Even though I'm on the Business Uncapped account that currently says "shaping policy: unshaped", I'm quite confident that it IS being shaped. Hulu Plus, YouTube and a couple of other streaming sites all buffer really badly. Testing to the futubox servers show really poor speeds. Should be getting at least 5mb on my 6mb line but I'm getting as low as 400k. Downloads via http is at full line speed and iTunes video runs perfectly smooth. Looks like they haven't got around yet to shaping iTunes but I'm sure it's not too far off. My account has been like this since day 1 with Afrihost with no sign of improvement.

I'm really happy with their mobile data which works fantastically well as well as the download speeds via http. My problem that I got the business package mainly for video streaming and it does not stream video properly. I've given up on live streaming of sport completely and rely on Hulu Plus mainly for TV shows. Futubox and one or two similar services is unusable. Hulu Plus buffers a huge amount but I'm used now to watching a half hour episode over a 45 minute period.
