Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

I don't think asking the same question can elicit answers that we cannot give. We will keep replying, not add any spin to an issue I know many clients are asking about, but to reassure you that we are here to answer questions with all of the information that we have available. When we have more information to impart, I promise we can give you more comprehensive answers.
Be honest if you were in my shoes would you be satisfied by the answers given so far regarding the issue? You as Afrihost have basically only admitted there is perhaps a problem on your network. What the problem is, is a mystery and what you intend doing about it too. Not really reassuring.

As I much would like to know as well I just have to accept that I'm not privy to such information.

Forcing the issue is not going to help because you will just get the same general response until something concrete has been established.

We are in your shoes though, we're also getting the maybes on our end :(
As AfriMan says - if we had the right answers to pass on we would. We don't though.

It's not just a matter of knowing but it's deciding whether to remain with Afrihost. At this moment nobody seems to know what the problem is or the people that do know are not sharing the information. Neither scenarios are very reassuring for me personally. I'm not forcing the issue or at least I don't feel like I am. Are you satisfied with the answers that have been given so far? Perhaps I missed something and you can point me in the right direction.

I get you, I do.
Unfortunately we don't have information that is able to be shared publicly. I can tell you that we're doing our best, best stick with us - it'll be worth it :)

The one second we are in the same shoes not knowing what is going on and the next minute you tell me that you do know but can't share. It's okay I get it, I will cut you some slack and let it continue for a while seeing that Afrihost has been impeccable the past few months but my patience will eventually run out. I'm sure I'm not the only user that feels this way.

Still having streaming issues with twitch.tv. Everything else is fine, youtube, downloads, torrents, usenet etc, barring the last couple of days issues. But twitch still buffers on anything over 360p on a 10 meg business account.

We've seen a few mentions of twitch.tv - we haven't been able to replicate the errors but some live streams are very bandwidth heavy. Have you installed BitMeter OS to run some monitoring?

I like .......... tells us anyway, please!!!!!! It clearly seems something is on the cards.

I'm busy having issues with everything (streaming, torrent, http, usenet etc). Nothing strangely, is going above 1mbps (4mbps account) and pings are all over the place

Should we maybe look at putting you back onto 8Mbps to see if this helps at all?

Hmm I was thinking that, maybe we should try it just to eliminate the fact that the line may be performing badly (though it's been very stable for the last few days since we switched to 10meg). But yes let's try 8meg plz :) I'll pm you

It all seems pretty stable by the looks of these results here. Does it run stable on these quality settings?

Could someone explain these stats please?

Even iTunes Radio is struggling to connect and play
Youtube wont stream anything above 360p. It will automatically grey out 720p or 1080 due to the poor service.

I expect a 10meg business line to do better than this

It's stop start for all of them. It will play smooth for 2-3 seconds then the video stops, audio carries on playing and then the video will skip to catch up to the audio. Other streams are different, it will just freeze and moan at me to drop my streaming quality, even when its on 480p or 720p, which a 10meg line should easily handle.

These results look OK here. Is it just iTunes radio that's being affected or is everything generally slow?

I did add to the initial post (we might have just posted around the same time) that youtube wont stream anything past 360p. Internet seems to be slow as a whole.
And its a 10meg line.

Speed test to international is about 520ms ping and 1.2 download.
Local to Cell C hosting is fine.

Now Telkom is having latency issues which is affecting throughput.

Can't win with ADSL at present.
