Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

I've PM'd those to AfriMan.

Funny thing is that I'm having issues since my line has moved over to Afrihost which is only a few hours. My SNR is down from 31db to 26db as well.

Traceroutes show completely different results even when run one after the other. My speed test results seem to have stabilised though. Will test with the capped account as well.

If latency is inconsistent there may be congestion on the exchange somewhere. Are the response times from hop 2 fairly stable?

Hop 2 was the erratic one along with 3.

Anyway, looking a lot better now but speed on the capped account is about 0.5Mbps off where it should be.

Will see how things evolve during the day.

Could you PM me two or three traceroutes so I can check it out?

I'll be on the lookout for em :) Just remind me in the PM that we chatted, my mind is everywhere today.

AfriMan just PM'd me now with regard to the traces I sent him. He is looking into it as I type this.

We shouldn't be seeing increased latencies in any regions today. Could you maybe post a traceroute here to so we can see where the latency is being introduced.
Here you go... It's being introduced on the now famous MTN IPC hop. When things are running smoothly for me that hop is sub 15ms...

Just activated the business uncapped account in seconds after ordering :-)
One question, is the account linked to my land line? I.e. will I be able to use it when visiting a friend or my parents?

*Ah I see now it's not possible. At least there's the payment holiday option!

Hi,

Checking my usage on the new version of the client zone, I noticed 2 phone numbers listed, 1 is an unknown number? Is this a glitch or has my account been hacked, the odd number only used 5MB, and this happened yesterday.

Unfortunately linked to your landline.

Using it on another line/number would entail phoning Afrihost support to have it actioned there. Pity. Highly inconvenient. Would be awesome if it could be used on any number provided one concurrent connection at a time!
