Afrihost Business Uncapped Feedback

If they make changes to the packages (which has already occured due to the congestion) they MUST ammend the pricing too. I am not paying business uncapped prices, for normal uncapped services. They can't have their bread buttered on both sides, sorry.

Absolutely. I'm not ruling out refunds/discounts by suggesting this. I'm just trying to achieve a semi-decent internet connection that does not impact on real time services... while we wait.

I get a https error so the pages displays in plain text.

I know the changes related to HTTPS, so it's possible. This whole Heartbleed issue is getting everyone up in arms so we're beefing up our security big time to reassure clients that their info is always safe. Funnily enough, ClientZone and our Order forms were never vulnerable - but I guess it's hard to explain to everyone :)

Hmm... valid point. Just remember - some buy these accounts just for torrents... so they would be the ones complaining then :(

Well, unless their intention is to max out the connection 24/7, getting the same things somewhat slower isn't a train smash. Watching a youtube video or a live TV feed stutter and buffer and splutter... that is a train smash.

Yea, true. However this would defeat the purpose of Business. As savage said

See, its a two sided coin unfortunately :/

That info shouldnt affect the HTTPS link, its just informing you. This is probably due to the heartbleed fix applied today...

The site should work on non-secured, as all transactions occur on the secured clientzone.

The heartbleed fix should have been as easy as apt-get update && apt-get install openssl, restart apache / nginx. It should not affect the website's certificate at all.

I still find an upgrade happening on Good Friday a bit strange, and the network will probably be under more strain because more people will be home. I wonder if Telkom are aware its the Easter long weekend?

Even more strange that Telkom only let then know on the day it's supposed to happen.

Installing IPC isn't like installing an adsl line where if it rains and you go "eish sorry, I come back tomorrow".

As it shows, its not the certificate which is having issues, but rather the CDS not delivering images and CSS on the secured homepage. No idea why :D But I guess it'll be fixed soon enough.

For now, however, the unsecured homepage should work just fine - as all crucial transactions are completed on the secured clientzone.

Well, of course! Its suggested only as a stopgap measure until the new IPC capacity comes on line to ease contention, and to allow real time web services to work as intended. And there most certainly should be some form of financial compensation for the reduced capabilities of the service whether this "fix" is applied or not.

Yea, I see your point... that'll have to be addressed through Afriman though - so I can't really comment :D

We're busy working on it - but you should be able to browse using non-encrypted browsing because only the order stage really enquires encryption.

HTTP keeps redirecting to HTTPS, and if I force HTTP only it just hangs and does not load.....

No train smash.... Just thought you would like to know :D
