My results tonight on a 4mbps Business Account in Cape Town.

International (And latency is usually in the 160's)

Nope, I was wrong 130KBps.

WOW.

I ask again - with problems like this how on earth can you say "Our DSL Broadband network is running like a bomb! Everything is copacetic and we’re good to GO!'

That's pretty abysmal. My speeds are fine for 4mbps. Is your area having issues/exchange problems etc.?

Anyone else having issues with streaming today? Trying to watch some football now, can't even stream flash stream on 175kbps. Stream torrent which is normally reliable and stable.

Did speed test. Latency seems fine around 20ms, though the actual test gets stuck about half way through for few seconds before completing.

Did a traceroute

In fact hooking them up on 2 different machines in my house.

While running large file test downloads on both pc's

AH is limiting me to 10% of the account speed.

Webafrica running with rest of available bandwidth.

Stopping the AH download - WA runs at full speed.
Stopping the WA download - AH does not go above 10%

Really getting sick of this:

All of this on an Uncapped 8MB Business Account.

Can we request a refund for total lack of service, or is it the norm to charge for no service in this country?

All I ever get asked to do is test, test, and more test, but nothing gets resolved.

After you provide results they don't get back to you, and when you get tired of phoning in and listening to "AFRIHOST" "INTERNET JOY" --- "ETC" being on hold for 20 min to speak to someone.

The wheels are coming off there.

10mb = 10240kbps = 1280kB/s = 1.25MB/s
10 megabit isn't the same as 10 megabyte.

Dude... don't patronise me.... the point is that my speed is 10% of what it should be.
Did you notice that I kept both in the same unit?????

Here's the proof:

Something Definitely Wrong!!!!!

20Mbps Business Line & Account. Cant stream 720p You Tube without buffering every couple of seconds.

And also see attached SpeedTest and sync stats.

Capture 2.PNG

Please look at what is going on!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah does seem to be a problem, excluding the streaming I'm trying to do now. This afternoon couldn't even stream 480p youtube without it needing to buffer every few seconds on my 6Mbps account.

Having some crappy internet the last couple of days. Crappy in the sense of anything related to latency is very spikey. Playing D3, very bad latency. Up and down. Im on 2Meg Business. See a tracert for tonight:

Hop 3 again the culprit.... now also in the NORTH, not just in the SOUTH.
MTN needs to sort out their IPC links with Telkom....

To everyone having problems - are you guys all in the cape? I am in North West. It seems the issue is only on AH both on local and international traffic. Other accounts are running normally. Seeing some latency spikes on the mtn network.

I'm also getting very poor speeds. Afrihost really seems to be having a lot of issues lately.
