People make mistakes, that's why pencils have erasers.

Good luck to Afrihost, I wish you all of the best.

Are there any internet providers listed on the JSE apart from the mobile networks?

It is always great to see the founders of a company gaining control of it again after an acquisition. In the case of Afrihost I think the company will be able to be far more disruptive without a multinational company as a majority shareholder.

I hope they launch a “we are independent again” special ;)

I can only imagine that this is being done because the valuation of the company is quite a bit down on what MTN paid for...

Yeah was just thinking that. The cheap MTN data on Afrihost and Axxess are probably going to disappear very quickly.

Why should it? Every indication was that the companies were pretty much at arms length all the time. The mobile deals were therefore proper commercial deals. No subsidising.

I wonder how this will impact Afrihost Mobile?

Article I read earlier on Tech Central quoted the MTN head honcho (in 2015) that they have been subsidising the cost to AH. With that in mind, it seems likely that the cost of their mobile offerings will rise once it is out of any contractual pricing agreements.
