I got Afrihost fibre in July had it for 2 months-but because of finances I had to cancel it. Paid my final month up and 1st of October it deactivates as it should.
An agent also called me around last month just to find out why I'm leaving an I say its low funds, he just says oh sorry to hear and goodbye.

Low and behold today I get a R999 debit order from Afrihost for cancellation-I was not made aware I would be charged this? No agent mentioned this or on their website?

I'm told now by support it's in the terms and conditions of canceling in 6 months, shouldn't the agent have told me this in the call when I cancelled then??

You could argue that they should have but then also could argue that you should know your contract and shouldn't be needed to be informed as its clear on their website

Cancellation policy

Should you cancel your Pure Fibre less than 6 months from activation, or your account falls into arrears, you will be charged a cancellation fee of R999.
The cancellation policy is NOT applicable to Vuma Reach.

@AfriNatic
This was not a new fibre line installation so why am I paying a cancellation fee? I didn't have to pay such a few when I left cool ideas

No, when you migrate and activate you have to stay on the Afrihost network for 6 months. As for cool ideas you already completed their 12/24 month contract thats why you didnt pay.

Now you're stuck with a bill that could've covered two months of internet Hai

Hi.
I am sorry you experienced bad service from the agent. They should have informed you on the call of the cancellation fee if your fibre services are less than six months with us.
