Afrihost cancellation

After 8 days with Afrihost I have canceled the account . Unfortunately I have to be there until the end of the month .
Torrents are shaped to death at any time of the day . Now for example it is 5.55 AM torrents are going down at an amazing speed of 2.1Kb/s and sudenly are jumping to 100Kb/s . For 3 days I am struggling to download 4GB well seeded torrent from a private tracker .
When I complained Afriman tried to " educate " me about torrents instead of dealing with the problem .
Shocking company , shocking service .:mad:
I hope they'll refund me the money as they committed themselves on their website .
 
Torrents are so 1990s ;)
My nzbs are rocking away at line speed (600KB/sec)
 
@OP : have you also considered the fact that it might be the seeders who's throttling themselves and not afrihost?
 
I wander why Spyk3r and Sinbad always answering very quickly after you say some thing bad about Afrihost .
Are they working there or are they virtual member which Afrihost created :confused:

Please post link so I can try on mweb? I've cancelled mweb for afrihost so want to see... Also, how much have you done this month so far and what package do you have?

I am on a capped AH account and don't have problems with torrents. If there are lots of seeds I get them at full speed, around 600kbps.

But I do agree that their support sucks. I had major problems with upload speeds and they did not do anything to help. Definitely won't move my line to them because of that.

Their capped accounts are unshaped.
Mweb and Afrihost both shape the crap out of torrents. And rightly so. Torrents are bad for the network's health.

I do not work for Afrihost. I have no affiliation with them whatsoever. I am just a happy customer and I believe strongly in customer advocacy. If I get bad service from somewhere you will see me responding just as quickly, and probably more eloquently.

I have been waiting a very long time for reasonably priced uncapped ADSL accounts in SA. Afrihost has delivered. They deserve kudos, and I am happy to give it. I see a lot of posts that don't gel with my experience - so I post my experiences.

No more, no less. No funny business, and nothing hidden.

There WAS a problem on my account yesterday, with the upgrade. AfriMan himself identified and put in a workaround for me. So even there, I can't fault the support.


Also, 3100 posts is a lot for a ghost/virtual/shadow account, dontcha think?

Just to confirm, AfriMan is the only official Afrihost representative! But it's totally awesome that our products speak for themselves through our client's satisfaction.

I stand by what I have posted in other threads, and what others have posted here, torrents are not a reliable indication of speeds or shaping. There are simply too many variables. We have confirmed client test accounts running torrents average up to 350kbps over a 12 hour period, hitting peaks of 480kbps plus.

AfriMan , I have no intention fighting with you on the forum . I was Afrihost client in the past and I should have remmember the resons for my leaving . My only question is . When I have asked for a test account I was told to sign and if I am not happy money will be refunded . After 8 days I gave cancellation order which will come into effect at the end of the month . Are you going to refund me ?
