Afrihost Capped ADSL Feedback (MTN) - New beginning

That pure internet joy is going down the toilet fast...

Dwayne.N (09:20:36) : MTN has a back-haul network issue that is affecting ADSL and Mobile Data across the board, as well as some Hosting Services, causing slow speeds, connection issues, high latency and intermittent connectivity. Our engineers are working closely with theirs to assist them in getting this problem resolved. We are hoping to have this resolved within the next hour or two, but having said that, there is currently no official ETA. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.

Eventually everyone will be moved over to the production IPC based off Afrigreen, yes :)

Yes, we've used an MTN IPC for well over 2 years already. They are also a shareholder in Afrihost.

Please point me to an explanation of how Afrigreen network differs from the Axxess "clone" of Afrihost, or Afrihost itself?

Will it be any different if everything still relies on MTN, why?

@Afriguy is there any chance I could hop on the Arigreen network, my capped account is pretty unusable in terms of browsing.
 
Heya guys

Just a quick update, and to update newcomers :)
We're working closely with MTN on a resolution - currently seeing degraded traffic across both IPC and Mobile links, countrywide.

Afrigreen is stable and working well, so if you are having troubles with your DSL account you're welcome to PM me your DSL username and I'll generate the details for you.
You'll have to update your DSL details in the router - you should only have to change @afrihost.co.za to @afrigreen

I'll have more updates posted as soon as they're made available.
 
AfriPeeps... Any chance of getting a friend onto the AfriGreen network sometime soonish?

He is on the AfriMTN account and can do nothing internet wise.

Is their a possibility of this happening at all?
