P2P, torrents and streaming are all dead for me in PTA. Steam downloads are half speed and browsing international sites is impossibly slow. Been going on since 10am this morning.

Laggy streams in PTA still.

Which DNS settings are you using by default?

Would you mind posting a speedtest and your line speed please.

P2P is dead in Centurion also, but works fine on the CrystalWeb test account. What crap is this from a capped account?

I am using Afrihost DNS(no configured DNS):

Speedtest to Centurion:

Speedtest to Sweden:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/4434393173.png

Speedtest to London:

And please don't be like "It's the twitch servers that are the problem."
I could stream fine on WA. It's just capped now, because I had to use it :/

At the moment we don't know if it is a widespread issue, and how many users are affected. Once we have additional information we'll be able to make a decision as to whether or not a notice should be put up.

I'll keep you guys updated as I get new info. :)
Really??????? I thought...

Sounds widespead to me.

Perhaps you should have a chat to the Critical Care manager - PM sent with his name. I had a long discussion with him regarding a number of issues incl. this one. He's committed to raising my concerns to the Directors. I'm sure he'll be able to appraise you guys of the issues.

Thanks for posting the results! Assuming you are on a 4Mbps, your actual download speeds appear okay, but the P2P is not running as it should.

We've had issues with our routing to Twitch.tv not being as good as it can be, I've already asked the Team to make sure the routing is still as it should be.

Day 15 of a 30 day month, i have used just 11GB of my 60GB allocation. This is not by choice, but because of endless Afrihost problems. No one can stand up to tell me this is fair. Its really not. I am really really angry

Yip, 4Mbps.
Thanks :)

:(

How are your other downloads looking? Any latency on your connection?

I didn't try anything else. I don't have line/exchange issues if that's what you're asking.

Switched over to my IS account (was only trying AH as it was before 5pm) and full speed ahead.

Would you be able to test other downloads? Just want to see if there's any trends I can go off here.

Good Day

I was going to call you guys but remembering the last time I was put on hold indefinitely decided not in the mood.

Since this past weekend, the internet has become torrid. I have confirmed the problem is not on my side, because LOCAL traffic is not affected nor is a test with a server in Cape Town, this then confirms my router, ADSL line and whatever else is in working order. Also proves my exchange is not congested.

On Saturday night in the wee hours we lost all international connectivity. Not even Wikipedia would load.
Since Saturday I am not able to stream properly. Youtube buffers, and normally it DOES NOT. I cannot use Youtube above 480p, and normally I can run Youtube at full screen 1080p, so something is DEFINITELY NOT WORKING RIGHT ANYMORE.

Latencies on pings have gone through the roof.
Of course your website displays nothing wrong, everything is hunky-dory.

Last night I tried to download. I saw the speed go from 320kbyte/sec down to 10kbyte/sec over a period of 10 minutes. I have never quite seen that before.

I am aware that you use MTN's backbone, and I suspect the strike is partly the cause or is it SEACOM trying to punish us again for using only 10% of their crappy cable.

I look forward to some feedback please, Afrihost Representative

Should have mentioned in my prior post.

Hi

Sorry to hear about the recent issue, I know it hasn't been smooth sailing.
We're seeing some elevated latency in the South, this should be normalising soon though. Around the drop in international throughput, I think this happened on Sunday morning?

In any case, that should have been resolved. If you're still seeing issues please send me a PM with some results and your DSL username.

Sadly it hasn't.
Torrents don't work. This is the first time EVER I have seen this problem with Afrihost.
Max throughput is 136kbyte/sec

You guys are shaping/throttling like MWEB did
If it is not resolved soon (I didn't do anything on my side) I won't hesitate to move to another ISP.
