Well I have just given up, going to sleep rather... when I wake up will decide who will get my money next.
Can't even do an image search on Google... takes 2 1/2 minutes to load the page
Everyone decided to give the malls a skip today because its too cold...

Getting this ^ but it's not coming through...
Struggling to buffer Youtub even at 360p.
Web pages are taking awfully long to load.
After 3 years of AH i'm tired of this inconsistency. One day it's perfect for a few hours and then not and that's what it's like to be with AH..
Time to maybe start again with another ISP?

Mine seams to be OK today, just streamed the Formula E Qualifying live coverage, on ITV, with no issues and a steady 230KBs, I hope I haven't jinxed it though as the race is at 5PM. I will be upset if the line degrades before it finishes.

YouTube quite inconsistent for me. Going between 3500Kbps and 187Kbps, and loading webpages is quite slow from time to time.

Speedtest.net London:

All speed tests are great, so I suspect that packets are getting bottle-necked somewhere at certain moments? Perhaps throttling due to a node being overloaded?

Afrihost, you really are being astoundingly ****. Pages take ages to load, I can see Youtube incrementally load thumbnails... but then somehow the actual streaming of the Youtube video works tolerably. And yet I can barely listen to streaming music. I don't know what kinds of shaping rules are in place to keep things working in Cape Town, but I'm having to switch more and more frequently from my Afrihost capped account to a WebAfrica one.

Well I tempted fate, just lost the stream entirely, no stuttering or jittering just dead with no throughput.

Web is working fine, just the stream died, switching back to my know working Telkom account for the race, I can't trust Afrihost.

Also lost streaming after motogp. Intl latency throught the roof. I thought it was because my account was capped but same after adding 4gbs. And restarting session about 4 times.

3 more days to hold out if you were smart enough to cancel before the 25th, hang in there guys the suffering is almost over.

I tried to use my Afrihost 1GB free account and even though it is active in clientzone and I copied and pasted the username and password from there, it doesn't connect. Anyone have any ideas? I did try to contact Afrihost but it's the weekend...:(

Interesting routing to google.co.za

FFS!!!

ANOTHER useless weekend on Afrihost.

Soon, soon, soon, soon we are told.

How soon is now???

/meh

They can't / won't give you an answer.
Can't even stream a single online radio station FFS...
Never mind we have to read tonight because the INTERNET IS BROKEN!

So sick of this crap. Anyone notice, the reps are now absent, probably having a lekker weekend and laughing at us whining paying subscribers because, after all they have nice direct backbone connections into their homes.

had enough of this bs looks like webafrica will be my next ISP i tested webafrica for about a month now every time i had problems with AH i switched to webafrica account and never had any problems really does it take months to upgrade the network don't think so they want us to pay for longer before they upgrade or they will loose money they don't care about clients they want to make money

As do all businesses in SA.. they don't have customers, they have bitches to rape.

I cant even stream you tube at 480p. It seems there is extreme throttling even on capped accounts.
