Afrihost Capped ADSL Feedback (MTN) - New beginning

MTN know all about this, as a major shareholder and give us their full support. They want Afrihost to succeed and our clients to continue to get the best experience and value. Right now, we don't have the control or access to really work with the network to maximise our resources to our client's benefit. With either option there will be more control, more direct, realtime insight into the network reporting, and we'll be able to react quicker, have more active monitoring and be able to deal with issues like capacity much faster with less intermediary approval.

I was being facetious about MTN knowing...

so what u are saying is that MTN is in control and not Afrihost this explains the whole disaster with the **** service

so u expect us to pay for something that will not be resolved

loooooool the word is FUTURE all this fixes and upgrades should have happened in the past just another PR stunt like i said it is a ongoing issue for months now if it was a week or two then it was a different story

Youre replying to quotes out of context here. The question was will there be changes to accounts or prices when moving to the new network, not changes made to the network in it's current state.

A PR stunt would be parachuting off a building. Our directors investing millions to build a new and improved network experience for our clients maybe deserves a little more credit.

Pretty sure I didn't say that. I said we can have more control. Right now we have to work through various processes which make it more difficult to react quickly. It's definitely not that MTN are an obstacle. We're just wanting to reduce the number of steps between seeing a problem and putting in a solution.

it has been months today still the same no solution and u are getting paid to cover AH ass

I get paid to listen to our clients and give feedback to management. I also get paid to help as many clients as I can. I do my best to do that. I do not get paid to lie, in fact, that would get me fired :(

....let's remember those millions are ultimately bankrolled by clients, as all viable business's are.

Absolutely. So just saying, a PR stunt would be doing something superficial to distract clients. Our directors are taking serious risks and investing serious money into making sure our clients are looked after. I don't believe that many other companies would do the same.

Despite all my /mehs and my doom and gloom responses... the AfriTeam has been the one and only fingergrip I have maintained on this whole MTN bluuuurgh Afrihost saga.

The AfriTeam may indeed be batting for their team, but They (capital T) have always been willing to assist me whenever I have needed help... above and beyond the call of their duty.

Credit due where it is due.

AfriMan and the Team are perhaps the ONLY reason I am still able to participate in these threads... and help they indeed do... despite their management and MTN constraints!

Your assistance IS appreciated, despite what I might say.

Thank you ...

It's always a pleasure. I know when things are back to what they should be, we can go back to sharing GoT memes again ;)

I haven't heard of many other companies, if any, that have dug this type of hole for themselves.

We need a timeline for a definite fix, not hollow promises.

Gian mentioned in one of his replies that it might be only a couple of weeks before we can start offering people to trial the new network experience. I'm not sure if I have that exactly right, but maybe best to follow that thread here

We don't need a "trial network" in two weeks or more. We need the one we are using to work as advertised!

That would be awesome... let it be sooner than later... m'kay!

Let's not waste precious time! ;)
