Afrihost Capped ADSL Feedback (MTN) - New beginning

Thanks for your vote of confidence :)
We're always open with our clients, I'm really not sure why the noticeboard displays otherwise.
Wouldn't may be another dishonest marketing ploy to suck in unsuspecting new clients now, would it?
This is borderline fraud!

Because it is a scam being conducted above your pay grade, it is your job to pacify whilst those above contrive to milk the network for what it has left in it. I think the ASASA may be interested in this saga............
Any one know the procedures to follow?

From: http://www.asasa.org.za/codes

"THE ESSENCE OF THE CODE

It is a requirement of the Code that all advertising should be legal, decent, honest and truthful, and be prepared with a sense of responsibility to the consumer."

I think that's taking things a bit overboard. A scam?
Guys, I get your upset - but throwing around accusations like that is taking things just a little too far.

Do you have data how many clients sign up based on a noticeboard? I doubt it's very much.
The majority of people buy things based on recommendations and what's being discussed on Social Media and your circle of mates. If someone recommends or tells you to stay away, chances are that's what you'll do.

So while the noticeboard isn't a true reflections, it's in no way a "ploy to get clients to sign up" I honestly think that notion is a bit silly, so let's nip it in the bud.
Come on guys, the discussion here is around getting things sorted out - it's open to anyone. That's a true reflection of things.

Afrihost website states;

Resolved
08 July 2015

Our network team has improved network performance during peak periods through changes to our network management devices.
In the next few days we will be adding additional capacity to improve our ADSL service. In the weeks that follow we will be implementing further upgrades.

^^ Is this a true reflection of the state of things or is it not true.

If true, please define "resolved"...

If not true... kindly clarify...

Please see my above explanations, I have already gone over this.

Oh, right...

"I'm really not sure why the status page has been updated, sorry
We aren't trying to fool anyone though - I'm happy to provide updates (as I have been doing) on the status. "

"So while the noticeboard isn't a true reflections"...

Perfectly clear then... I get it... left hand, right hand syndrome and all that then.

There is no need for a noticeboard then... it means nothing, the info is perfectly clear in that it is not a true reflection despite you requesting the correct information to go up and we have it all resolved.

Phew.

Glad there are people in Afrihost Website Land that know what we should know and help us all understand this clearly then, without confusion or obfuscation...

As I said, we've requested that updated info be put on the noticeboard.
I don't have control over this, sorry.

I wonder just what Afrihost has control over... certainly not their MTN network, nor their support replies to queries as can be attested to by many here who have posted their responses to tickets, and neither their website info.

Awesome.

My local latency is fine, just international latency is like 40ms more sometimes and I have so much packet loss in Teamspeak but at a 11pm it goes back to normal my packet loss.

Awesome.

I don't think you can base a status page update query on the entire company.
Anyway, I'm working on getting it back up.

Even if only one person signs up because of the blatantly wrong notice then they have been misled!
"I honestly think that notion is a bit silly, so let's nip it in the bud."
Obviously you don't want people/clients making these assertions and I apologise that you took it so personally as I know you guys are doing your best.

And I can understand your point, I really can.
Let's assume I sign up after checking the noticeboard on the site.

Cool, no issues. I'll take some DSL.
It's not performing as I expected, I ask Support, Social Media or ask here and see the other issues.
From there, I either wait it out or request my money back.

So I really don't think we're trying to con anyone into buying DSL and our network is running smoothly.
Again though, I need to stress that I've requested that the notice be returned to it's previous state.

There is a reason it was updated as it has just been.

Who makes the decision then to update the noticeboard?

And... based on what feedback and info?

Surely it is not just a random thumbsuck green-light thing...

I really don't see how that has anything to do with that we're talking about. You have every right to be upset, but posts like this are the furthest thing from constructive.

You know, I can handle that you've run out of IPC, and that its due to shareholder pressure. What-ever! You know what gets me going, when people tell lies, especially in public..... Its the same thing as this useless government that tells lies all the day long. It drives my blood pressure up. Changing the network status page is like the ANC telling us loadshedding is on due to generating capacity, when it has just transpired it was all a sham, a nice little scheme to blackmail the population into a tarriff increase. Telling us "soon", "it is being worked on though" is like Zooomer's govt telling us "we will turn off analogue TV when we're ready" So it basically means, your word, the word of your CEO, is worth doggie doo. And henceforth, myself, indeed none of us here, can actually then believe a word you say. Do you think that's cool? I don't. Because if you lie for a living, you may as well move on to politics.

Please read through my posts from earlier on in the thread, it answers all of your concerns.

I don't even think it was updated intentionally. I'm honestly not sure.
It's run based on what our graphs show us - while I think changes have been made it hasn't sorted things out. So we (the reps here and our Social team) takes feedback online and feeds it into the business daily.

The noticeboard has also just been updated, as I had requested.

Had we not said anything yet, it would probably still be green... Round 2... ding ding ding...

I doubt it, but I guess we can make assumptions all night about would have, might have happened if we did something differently or what was discussed here.
I think it's time to move on now.
