No you haven't. That has been apparent for weeks now. The packet loss caused problems for me last night, there was an especially bad burst of it around 19h30

Like I said, the team are working on this. I think we only started seeing serious packet loss in the last week, it didn't seem this severe, even though latency was very high during peak demand.

Gamers and TS users have been complaining about packet loss for months!!

Does anyone else seem to be having Apple Music issues with Afrihost? Massive buffering and sometimes I can't even start songs.

Just purchased the Vox 100GB special. lets see how it goes.
I have not cancelled my AH account yet, waiting to see what happens in the next 3 weeks.

Damn , So many DSL accounts (Telkom 20MB Line rental and 50GB Cap) , (Afrihost 150GB+150GB capped account), (Vox 100GB Capped) , (MTN 3G 1Gig).
If you add all those costs just to be connected its mind boggling. If one Provider could offer a decent service instead of paying multiple parties "Just to be SAFE" they would make a killing.

Best of luck, hope to see you back with us soon :)

THIS!

Back when I still a customer in February I raised this issue almost on a daily basis with screenshots showing the loss! But nooooooo. Always met with "more trace routes, more screen captures and more speed tests please".

This statement is just too damn funny.

^^ This.. packet loss has been an issue almost permanently this year on these Afrihost capped accounts.

But he did say "I think we only started seeing serious packet loss in the last week, " one could construe that to mean that it was not considered as serious until it resulted in Customer Loss too...

I think the two issues brought up may be different.
Regardless though, packet loss shouldn't be happening. Period. And we're working hard on getting that fixed.

This has been confirmed, nothing has changed.
No shaping takes place on Capped/ Business accounts.

that is NOT TRUE. The time now is 15:40 10-July-2015 and my torrents are crippled, badly!

Good grief, some folks on this thread carrying on at such a tangent... they might even succeed in getting SA's 'Naaamba One' to "PAY BACK DA MAAAANIE"... :D

Haven't checked-in here for a while since my experience has been quite all-right over the past week...
Ran multiple tests just now. All OK. It's what I usually get on any ISP on a Friday noon. International DL speed slowish but that's intermittent. Latency fine - my entire week's Lync video and conference calls can attest to that - no stutter.

Can only grin when scrolling back a few pages to see how much time and effort is spent on trying to 'catch-out' the Afrifolk! The mind boggles.
Admitted, there's been some serious issues, but for me the network performs fine for one that is about to be abandoned for what sounds like 'greener pastures'.

Glad to hear that the experience has been OK for you :)
Thanks for your support, it's much appreciated!

But you are not in cape town where the Issues have been serious for well over a year now, it was only when JHB got hit that Afrihost admitted it even had an issue. Look back at the people who have left and you will see most are in the South, not JHB.
