Is there something wrong with the p2p? I can't seem to download anything. Been like this for almost 2days now.

Is this a constant issue? Or something that only pops up every now and then?
It may be due to the high demand - doesn't seem to be affecting everyone though.

Tried downloading via Usenet and torrents and got 0 KB/s on a capped account.I have literally been shaped to nothing and still have 15GB left .
Switched to my WA account and back to normal speeds.
Cmon guys this just isn't good enough.

We are currently experiencing increased demand in the North[/n] region (Johannesburg, Pretoria and surrounding areas). As a result, some users may experience diminished throughput (speeds) on their DSL.

Our network team are investigating the issue and will be implementing changes to optimise efficiency to manage demand. We apologise for any inconvenience to affected clients and assure them that we are doing everything possible to improve their internet experience.

So whats is the excuse now since the IOS update is long gone.... The wind!?

I have switched to a backup WA account which is running smooth. Might just migrate to them permanently ...

I have a feeling Afrihost is basically always running at max capacity, every time demand increases just a little bit they fall over!

Anyone ever considered that maybe, just maybe, some of the Afrihost Capped clients have been put onto the shaped uncapped profiles by "accident"?

This would make sense given the varying experiences from users in the same geographical region - some reporting what very much looks like shaping, and others claiming perfect speeds?

It has literally been for the last 2 or 3 days. p2p doesn't even download at 0kbps, it just stands still. I can only assume there is a high demand on the network so p2p is given the lowest priority.
Thanks for asking. Perhaps you could look into it and let us know please.

It's almost 22:30pm demand cant be that high anymore? My speeds are even slower now on my 10mb line? Nothing else ran while i did the speed test.

Strange that I'm in Johannesburg and getting almost exact speeds as you Arno? Shaping of CAPPED accounts now?

Meanwhile on the WebAfrica forum they are helping clients sign up...
