17mbps on my 20mbit line to overseas (FTP) as well as in local/international speedtests.

No problems here (Durban)

Hi,

Can't really say. It's seems random for me at this time.

We all know that there is problems at Afrihost at the moment since "other" ISPs don't necessarily have the same inconsistencies. I still give AH the benefit of the doubt that they will fix the problem with capacity, but it's now been about a month or more and it's testing ones faith. The question is, when will this be fixed.

I can completely understand that your patience is running out, I'd love to give you a date - I'm afraid one isn't available though :( As soon as there's any feedback you guys will be the first to know.

P2P is absolutely crawling. Getting 10 KB/s on a 10mb line yet speedtest is fine. Thought capped accounts were unshaped?

Yesterday p2p was dead the whole day until 10 p.m. then it started to run at usual normal speed.
Today same problem, p2p is not even crawling, it`s as dead as a doornail. Will propably have to wait till 10 pm again before I can attempt to use p2p.This is really not the service I was hoping and PAYING for, my patience is wearing thin.AHost is going to lose a significant amount of customers at the rate they are operating/injuring.

Agreed, p2p dead in the water. I called yesterday and spoke to a guy who couldn't explain what the problem was, ran the usual line tests and declared the line in perfect working order....uh.....no. Still waiting on him to call me back with the results of the further investigation he promised, guess they are in the dark as much as we are. I've watched this thread unfold with interest (and some trepidation) and have tried to be patient, but it's getting ridiculous now.

I've tried multiple torrents today and NONE are working! It just says connecting to peers. Come now, even on a uncapped product I'd be unhappy but on a capped product where I pay for specific data? Please shed some light on this.

I ponder the crew turn the eye that blind is, on what ye can see. Its the wind that changes. For better or worse we shall see. Ye sneaky ones will have water wings on before dem others notice.

That's pretty definitive.

And quite frankly proves AH's dishonesty.

I'm getting reports that Destiny is working much better now. Can you test on your side again?

Disconnections weren't too frequent before about 2 hours ago.

I know Destiny can be unstable, but I have never had problems with logging in. It's pretty much unplayable now. I know the problem originated at my ISP as I can see all my non-Afrihost friends playing destiny via PSN. And I've found more Destiny players with the same issue who are on Afrihost on the Destiny Forum.

I'll PM you more details if that's what you need.

Why are torrents being shaped on my capped account? It's not a line or congestion issue at all.

Downloads may be degraded due to an increase in demand, this is something that we're working on.

I need to stress that we aren't shaping Capped accounts.

http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/B/bandwidth_shaping.html

The process of manipulating, managing or controlling (shaping) portions of a network connection to the outside world and determining an allowed bandwidth consumption based on types of activities.

Your prioritisation is my shaping. A grey duck or a white duck - it quacks and is still a duck, no matter the name.

The shaping has been absolutely ****ing ridiculous for the last few hours.

**** you very much Afrihost, you just made my decision for me.
