I don't know what you guys did, but my upload has improved to 1.09Mbps lol. Download at 3.07mbps with 21ms ping locally.

Personally I would be more concerned about if my computer will still work, after letting M$ install that much in one shot, than I would be about the download working :)

Nah... it's Windows 8.1, rock solid... no worry.

EDIT: And updates downloaded and installing...

Well I'm sorry for all who are still suffering low speeds but mine is the best it has been in the past 6 months

Clipboard01.png

The line is synced at 6Mbs and the data is a HD Livestream.
Effectively it is maxed out constantly, perfect sound and picture with no buffering for the past 3 hours :)

Yeah, haven't bothered with mine for the last 4 hours but logged in a while ago and pulled a 80mb YouTube file via idm. Came down at full speed so looks promising.

Had a call from Mweb in trying to recruit me stating that " why wait MWEB is busy taking over AH anyway" anybody else had the same call?

Strange, I had the same call this afternoon. Wonder how they are getting our numbers? Sent them packing - I don't take unsolicited sales calls. If I want your service I will contact you, not the other way round.

this morning still crap speeds ... AH why do i get a feeling you guys really dont know how to resolve this and just resorting to "smoke and mirror" PR tactics to appease the clients ?

i honestly would think by now the speeds would have been resolved ...

Good Morning Everyone

I can see that most of the posts since yesterday relate to speeds and I just wanted to post an explanation of exactly what is happening, so that there is no confusion.

Over the past weekend, we and our upstream vendors ran updates on the firmware that controls our network shaping on Uncapped accounts (we don't shape Capped or Business) and traffic management systems. This is basically the software that controls how we classify traffic and then determine what must be shaped or not. After the implementation, we saw reports of poor speeds and this is basically because of contention on the network as a result of shaping not being as effective as it should be.

Our technical team, along with our vendors, are now working to try to find where we are allowing traffic through that should be shaped, and once they have been able to identify traffic correctly, we should see contention minimised, and performance return to within the range that we expect.

I hope this explains what's happening, we want to be as open as possible so that you guys understand what is happening. If you hav questions, please PM me, I'm happy to explain as much as I can.

Would it not be better to answer questions publicly, rather than in PM, so that we are all aware of the issues and progress and avoid you getting the same questions repeated several times?

Individual account enquiries should be in PM but general impact/Technical queries should be public in the interests of transparency.
