Get my line fixed first did you call them at 1:30 again as you promised.

What was their response?

Indeed I did Sir Thor187. They are getting a Network Specialist to look into why your line is only syncing at 15Mbps instead of 40Mbps.

Are these firmware upgrades similar to the previous ones that also caused major issues for a few days earlier in the year/end last year?

Late last year we experienced a capacity issue with our IPC, which is basically the amount of bandwidth that we have access to.

The problem we are experiencing now is caused by the software that manages our bandwidth, it was basically not correct allocating bandwidth to our Business Uncapped and Capped users, and was not shaping P2P and NNTP correctly on Uncapped users.

Latency fluctauted a bit to the Diablo 3 EU server last night. Nothing major, it corrected itself within a few minutes. Could have been a server-side from the EU problem.

I do remember some firmware upgrade caused issues a while back though, not ipc.

The line is not VDSL yet that's probably why?

My vdsl router shows ADSL2 thats most likely why it is not sync at 40mbps?

Ow well at least now I know they are actively on it and will fix it today hopefully.

2mb/s Are you kidding me right now????

I just checked with Telkom, the Tech working on this is switching your line profiles, he should have it back where it should be shortly.

Ahh okey sorry bout that was just really upset since 2mb for the weekend is not ayoba.

Telkom is still at it, looks like they are having to make changes to your actual port at the Exchange.

Which is what I was saying for the past week now... But nope bottom scrape support personal who handled my tickets did'nt even know VDSL and ADSL requires a different port, modem etc.

You say looks like they... Can you confirm that or is that just another time buying response.

Sorry but I'd appreciate official responses they said this say said that etc.

Not observations. Got enough of that all ready.

Its almost closing time I want this done today. Not going to spend the first weekend home with no internet.

Alright, the official word from Telkom is that your line and port may not be able to reach 40Mbps, you will definitely be able to get 20Mbps. They will try for 40Mbps, then, if the line is not stable at 40Mbps, it will be switched to 20Mbps. I will ensure that we assign the appropriate credit to your account once the regrade is officially completed.

Funny... The telkom tech tested my line and said I would have no issue doing 40Mbps...

Its a brand new line and both my neighbours in Tygerfalls have 40Mbps...

To be honest with you, I think each Telkom Tech has his own opinion and method of doing things, I certainly hope the line can get to 40Mbps, but I just want to forewarn in case this is not the case.

You are correct, but the Network Availability does not indicate whether or not there enough 40Mbps ports available at the moment, or if the line itself can handle 40Mbps.
