I rebooted the router just in case it helped but if anything the 3rd hop looks worse now.

Not surprised the destination latency is not great, it looks like it hops from Amsterdam to London then new york and las vegas before hitting the server :)

Latency to the US it tricky, because it generally depends on where in the US the server lives. Sometimes internal peering and routing within the US can be unpredictable :(

Can I get a update regarding my line please afribots.

With that I want a explanation why for the second time my ticket is 13 hours later still not replied to.
.
Ticket UHB-38093265

Afrigenie said he's on it... Well he's been in it the whole time and still not the slightest change.

I know he is still working on it but looks like this is something that needs action directly from Telkom, which he is pushing for.

Still not getting anywhere need the speed I'm paying for - 4Mbps with Capped account. What to do Afribots?

Know there's still more to be done but we're seeing progress and I think that's a good sign. Our team are still in conference working on this with our local and overseas partners, so I do expect we'll see continuous progress throughout the day.

Been on the phone with telkom already and supplied them with the ticket Afrihost sms'ed me.

They said they received no further instructions amd the line is functioning on 15Mbps ADSL2

So I hold Afrihost Directly accountable for their negligence and want this sorted today !

( I ordered a VDSL 40mbps )

Still also not explaining why my ticket is just hanging for 15 plus hours without response.

I don't know if the call centre people would have a record of the correspondence between us and senior Telkom people. But I will ask that AfriGenie contact you to give you a update.

Did a quick test on my machine. Speeds are back to being bad...

Latency = 9ms
Download = 3mbps
Upload = 0.68mbps

This is a 10mb line

Pls note the modem was rebooted.

I tested other servers. First test always seems to be awesome, max speed. But a repeat test is crashes to a whooping 2mbps...

I would really appreciate it, because reading through mybroadband regarding vdsl this is not an isolated case.

Atleast keep me in the loop and give me logs or something so I can follow up with telkom because Im not entirely convinced about your ability to get this through to them.

I do keep a record log of all my calls to telkom which are unnecessary because Im paying Afrihost to deal with them.

But not just deal but to actually get a result/solution.

If that was a one day thing yea chilled, but I've lost my funny happy go lucky sucky approach after the ticket with mr Bruce van Rooyen.

I'm paying you, you are not delivering. Delivering in the sense why must I bug telkom on my own personal expense when I'm paying you to take care of it.

From afrihost website( *We deal with Telkom on your behalf for all DSL related issues.)

Now get them to change my adsl line to a vdsl port as they was not instructed to do so.

AfriGenie says he dropped you an update on PM about an hour or so ago, but he'll send you another update ASAP.

I bet he is called AfriGenie because after a day on this forum he feels a great urge to "Hit the Bottle" :)

any ETA on this?

I mean this in the nicest possible way. But for me to even just buy enough data from a competitor to last me the weekend I might as well cancel...

Please Im asking you, with tears in my eyes sort this out by COB today. I do love afrihost, heck I have been to one of your year end functions before you are all good people. But I needs my fix *cough* R and R over this weekend...

Look I sympathize with them I really do. Nothing worse then the issues they having, one after the next. String of bad luck I guess...

Just *** to see the top forum posts are all afrihost related.

I agree with you, and as a long time AH customer I too am considering canceling not only My accounts but My Client's accounts too.

But in the past couple of days at least they opened up and started to give us technical info and allowed us to help test, that in my mind eased the tension and I am willing to work with them to resolve this for the sake of all of us, not just my clients.

IF it is not sorted by the 23rd though, we are gone.
It has happend too many times of late and the MTN hookup only offers bad news not good for the future.

You guys aren't that bad after I managed to work my way through your gruff exteriors. ;)

That being said, I am going to enjoy my ice cold beer this evening!

I would hate to see you guys leave Afrihost, but you have to ensure you get the best possible experience that you need to get.

I truly appreciate the patience you guys have shown these past few days, it really helps us a lot to be able to get these speed test results as quickly as you guys post them.

Get my line fixed first did you call them at 1:30 again as you promised.

What was their response?
