It seems that there's always something..come on guys.
Oh and please don't ask me to test with you, I've given clear results.

There seemed to have been some throughput issues with Youtube last night - but I was getting this on a few test accounts - it does seem improved now.

Could you try see if there is any change with your streaming now please. Have you seen any reduced speed on your entire ADSL account?

Not at all!

We send out the mails from Gian in batches, so it may take a few hours before you receive it, you should also see the message in your Clientzone by now.

Maybe you can tell me. How do I unsubscribe from the mails from Gian? I keep getting them even though I've unticked all the marketing/updates options in the clientzone. I've started marking them as spam now because his mails never have an unsubscribe link.

More IPC is on the way indeed, no confirmed dates as yet though - although I'd expect it'll be after the Telkom freeze period is over in early 2015.

Wait does this mean we (The South) haven't been upgraded yet since the octoberfest or that we are getting more on top of the octoberfest?

and after using Simfy for a few weeks, I am happily using Plus+.

I see on your page it says:
PLUS+ Page said:
Take your music with you Download music using offline mode and listen to your songs even without an internet connection ‑ perfect for when you're on the go.

Are you sure about this? When I was a Subscriber it refused to play any of the Music I had downloaded unless it found an internet connection to verify the DRM.

As one of the main places I wanted to use it was a game lodge with no electricity, Internet, or cellphone coverage it rendered all my downloaded music useless and was a major reason for canceling.

If you have Simfy, could you please do a test and confirm that they have now taken away the requirement to verify DRM befor playing offline. In fact you should do it anyway or you could be slammed for false advertising if it is the same as befor and requires a connection, even briefly, to play offline.

The South did receive an upgrade to the IPC capacity in October, there will probably be additional upgrades in 2015 to make sure we stay ahead of the growth curve.

If you disabled all of the mail options in the Clientzone, you should definitely not be receiving any more mails from us, could you please send me a PM with your account username so that I can see what is going on there.

Heads up, I have been getting a few calls from agencies requesting specific type of data.
They are looking for email addresses with afrihost.co.za
I am presuming that your competitors are doing a huge marketing drive for new users.

I have seen this before, when MWEB was having problems agencies were looking for mweb.co.za mail addresses.

Just thought I would let you know

P.S. I declined the numerous orders.

Same here, someone is considering to capitalize on Afrihost's misfortune.

Interesting fact that is how I moved from mweb to Afrihost back in 2003

:(

Quite a few of our clients have been receiving calls from Marketers trying to sell MWeb products, they seem to favour the story that Mweb is buying Afrihost, so you may as well sign-up with MWeb now.

Thanks for letting me know!

Tell me. I have a 1GB free account as of next month (although i may increase this to the 4+4GB account as a backup), Am i able to get the AH+ with the free GIG account? looking at making use of the simfy and the softcap for when my other data runs out.

Lol Mweb.... F those guys!

I dont like them all that much.

Web Africa is decent. And then I'm starting to gain my trust in Afrihost again my current line is functioning marvelously so when everything is settled next year I will move my original 9 lines back etc.

But atm. I cant move business critical lines with all the unpredictable results.

So only my leisure 40Mbps/work from home line can stay at AF atm.

I just confirmed with our Dev Team, you will not be able to add the Softcap to the Free 1-GB Capped account, but it will definitely work if you switch it to the 4GB Account.

Hi AfriGenie

Regarding +, I don't subscribe to mobile data and Simfy etc. I'm just a plain capped user.
Tell me, where exactly is the value in + for a user like me?

At present IF they drop double data - the value would be you still getting your double data every month at the extra cost of Plus subscription. If you opt to not sign up, you will be getting half your current data amount at the same price. IF they drop double data. Which I expect they will.

There would be no point is releasing Plus+ if they didn't drop double data.

They have to at least sign up enough people to cover the development costs and the logical way to do that is drop double data until enough people sign up. Only then can they consider bring double Data back and facing the storm of protest from the Plus+ users.

This is a nasty hole they have dug themselves into.

The decision as to whether or not Double Data for Mobile and Capped users will end has yet to be made by our Directors, so I wouldn't take it as an automatic given that it will end just because of Plus+ being launched.

So I would honestly not start planning now with the assumption that Double Data is going to end.

It was a serious question, I understand if you need time to test it but I would hate to sign up again only to find that DRM still requires a network Connection for offline play.
