Move from Mweb because of throttling and now I get this. Is it to late to cancel this account.

Was just about to say :)

Shaping should be ease off as soon as our network becomes quieter. Remember that we never throttle, and realtime services are not affected by shaping :)

My mistake sorry. How do you move it to correct forum.

froot, I wish. I could last watch a Youtube vid at 720p with no buffering issues at all (while downloading something else and the better half was browsing at the same time), in August.

Now it is purely luck of the draw. Sometimes I can watch it fine at 360p, other times it buffers to hell. Same with 480p and 720p. We don't have DSTV (refuse to pay an obscene amount of money for so many channels of crap that none of us will watch), so I catch up on motor racing and bike racing news and vids on Youtube, Streetfire, etc. That is, if I can actually watch the vids...

Now counting day 4 with 10M line speeds crawling below 3M .. Sadly for me my MiFi is also giving me slow speeds ... :/

hi

ever since the IPC incident of monday, my 10Mb capped account has sucked. before the incident, my speedtests were consistently above 8.6Mb. now i am lucky to get 4Mb, and it drops as low as 1mb. the results are wildly erratic, and the modal value is about 3mb. even my upload (previously 0.86Mb like clockwork) is less than half that now.

i have rebooted my router, "fixed my line", rebooted my PC, all to no avail. and you want to hear the best thing? my free 1GB account has speedtests of between 7Mb and 8Mb, with >0.8Mb upload.

PLEASE HELP! i have had little other than trouble since joining afrihost at the beginning of this month

my mweb 1GB account is massively outstripping my afrihost capped account in terms of ping and throughput! what's up?

Everything still going OK on the line. I am actually surprised.
Downloading in the background, watching a Youtube vid, and have a few forums open.

I think that storm yesterday must have woken the Telkom techs up:D

Let's hope it stays this way. Fingers crossed :)

Pretty weird. Cape Town IPC should be running like a bomb. Our own tests are showing good throughout and latency on monitoring :(

That is pretty strange - we had some problems yesterday only in the Cape Area, which seemed to be resolved.

Can you PM - speeds should not be that poor for this long unless there is another issue here :(

Sadly, no.
The line has been dead since just after 2pm. Mom-in-law has been trying to access her emails all afternoon and not even that works. Rebooting the router now and silently wishing to myself that I do not come across any Telkom tech in the near future, because I will most likely land up in jail soon afterwards....

And still no reply back from Kyle.
