After being fine the whole day, 5-20pm rolls around and the line is dead. Router LED shows green for the ADSL connection, web-based control panel for the router shows it is connected and syncyng at 8Mb, but nothing wants to load at all.

And the rebooting will now commence until a connection is found.
 
And now it is miraculously working again.

Telkom, fix your line problem. That is all.

Our team are doing their best to chase up on your fault. I don't think we can realistically expect stable ADSL until the fault is resolved :(
 
Seeing as they closed the faults or marked them as resolved (none of the fault reference numbers I have even register on their site...), I can see they actually do not give a toss anyway.

Sorry Afri-people, I know it is not your fault, but like I said, every time I see a Telkom van in the area, I want to throw bricks at it. They are notorious for not giving a damn, and this is from speaking to people in the area who also have line issues.

One lady 3 blocks away has been without a line for 9 months now after the cable was snapped by a falling tree, and what had Hellscum done? You guessed it.

I know it can be annoying :( Let our team do the heavy lifting with Telkom, I'm confident that we'll have this sorted out for you.

And the line has been pathetic the whole day.

How is this for a 10Mb line that is syncing at 8Mb:

How am I supposed to burn through the 35Gb that is still left on my account if this carries on as it is now? If I don't use it up, it is lost when the new month rolls around.

Am still only getting max 230kb/sec out my 8meg line. Other accounts perform full speed.

Something definitely isn't right here. Please drop me a PM with your info and I'll do some digging for you.

He's constantly in touch with Telkom - I'm sure we'll have concrete here for you soon.
