Capped account downloading at under 10 percent line speed... FNB Free Gigs running full speed.

Sorry about this :( I'd like to have a look at what's going wrong here, could you drop me a PM with a bit more info please?

AfriGuy, could you figure out what went bottoms-up with my topup (I did send you a pm this morning).

Ah yes, I kept looking for unread PM's. The smiley in the subject clearly doesn't work for my brain.
Anyway, I've just replied - hope it's all good :)

MTN backbone is the downfall here... same as Axxess... was all good and dandy until the switch, now 99% of the month you spend in "managed/gimped" status... Just saying/venting!

I don't think that's really the case here. Obviously recent issues barred, we've seen phenomenal results both on our side as well as the clients end. Moving to MTN has boosted out network in so many awesome ways :)

Fixed. :D

Performance this past week has been absolute horse manure. Not what I expect on a capped account.Especially moved from uncapped to capped to avoid these issues.Yes prices are great but you pay for it in performance.C'mon guys the excuses are starting to wear very thin - time to fix the problem.
Webafrica has been absolutely superb during this time and I read somewhere that they are revising their pricing. Can't wait !!

Afri[person], I cancelled Afrihost capped account now because it wasn't any better than the telkom account I'm using- why does the client zone say my service will be cancelled on the 30-11-2013??? Payment is via credit card.

Because to cancel it end of this month, you should have cancelled by 23.59 last night.

Sorry about this, cancellations needs to take place before the 25th of every month so it can take affect.
Drop me a PM though, I'll see what I can have sorted out for you.

If that fails downgrade to a 1GB capped account.

Work some magic here please:mad:
Fourth week and counting....

I know you and Kyle are trying to see what is wrong, but this has gone on for far too long now. 10Mb Capped account should never be as crap as this.

We're working with Telkom to try and find out why your line is so unstable. Unfortunately these kind of faults are very difficult to pin down and we're doing our best to get Telkom's specialists involved :(

And for that I am extremely grateful.
Speeds have been OK today. 6Mb+ across the board with Speedtests I have done. This was using my own login details and not the "specialops" one.

There must be a line fault somewhere between the Waterkloof exchange and our place, or the exchange is overloaded somehow or it's the exchange itself.

My happiness was short-lived......

This was the view for about 3 minutes (yes, 2 minutes and 57 seconds, I timed how long it took to load after trying for the 4th time....):

Took about a minute to open this thread as well.

This was a Speedtest from earlier when everything was just fine:

To this:

Unstable se moer, this is a joke.

And another one from a minute ago:

I can understand jumping around about 2-3Mb/s as demand on the exchange goes up and down, but 6+Mb tells me there is something seriously wrong somewhere.
