I think I mentioned it before but it looks like you have a router fault. Have you tried using a different one?

I can't understand why the download speeds are so inconsistent this morning. I go from 211kB/s one moment. right down to 7.7kB/s the next, What gives?

Working 100% here in the north. Finished all my downloads for the day.

Experiencing the same thing on another ISP. Local and international connection seem to be a tad wonky.

Pretty solid here today. 50GB capped bundle.

Code:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 37142 kbps (4642.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2801 kbps (350.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 15 ms

NNTP is a bit patchy.

yes this is a new router.

And you sure the line is idle when you do these tests?

Your first hop shows:

Code:
1	192.168.0.1 18 ms

18ms is extremely high latency to your router, it should be less than 1ms over a wired connection and between 1 - 2ms over wifi. If you're running it over wifi maybe just check if you can get updated drivers for your wireless adapter there may be an issue here.

I'm not saying this is causing your speed issues but it is a problem and you should eliminate it first.

Really slow NNTP downloads here, has been like that for the last few weeks, only getting 30kbs on my 8Mb/s line when downloading using Afrihost. When I switch to FNBConnect speed goes up to 100Kb/s+
