What exactly is the issue or are we gona keep getting the same mail over and over again

Please accept my sincere apologies for the authentication issues we have been having of late and any inconvenience that it may have caused.

We are working on resolving the problem as soon as possible.

We're still testing and investigating, but we've put some big changes in place. We've also got the most senior technical people at MTN working with ours and their senior management. Obviously with technical issues it's hard to be 100% sure, but they're confident that the issues could be behind us for good.
 
Thanks afrihost! I moved from uncapped to capped expecting unshaped performance yet instead I can't even browse international sites....This is pointless..Ihave a useless internet connection. I have also asked Telkom to rset my prot and all that so it is definately the account :( If this is the performance I can expect i might as well move to another ISP....I cant even do a speedtest so that shows you bad it is. It keeps timing out. Can't even open my gmail. :(

I'm sorry to hear this. I think it would be good to make 100% sure that this is due to the account. We're not seeing that level of degraded performance generally.

Can you PM so we can run some tests, or download our Network Test App so we can check the basics first.

I'll definitely need to see something from your Afrihost account, cos these results seem mostly normal - see some spikes and timeouts though, so it could be when the line is better than other times :(
 
Afrihost really starting to annoy me. First there is the subpar performance on their unshaped capped accounts, then the authentication issues and now they've decided to overcharge me this month for this wonderful service.

I think I have been a pretty easy customer to this point, but when I get overcharged by over R300 I start getting annoyed. :mad:

Not sure if it any significance, but something I noticed during the process of trying to re-connect which may help you.
Initially on Monday night after I lost connection I couldn't connect at all, then around 9 am on Tuesday morning I found if I only had 1 computer connected to the router I could connect.
The instant I added another computer the modem disconnected.
Now it did this regardless which computer I had connected, as long as there was only one connected.
Also if I rebooted the modem it would not connect regardless if there was only one computer or not, it only connected by clicking on 'Apply' on the modem menu.
Now once it connected with one computer the little modem icon on the taskbar had an '!' exclamation mark with it which read 'No Internet' yet there was.
Around 11:00 am the little '!' went out and I connected the other computers and all was well.
