NNTP is great because you can test what single stream performance is like. The difference between single and many stream performance in absence of a limited distribution network is the quality of backhaul. With increasing latency, packet drops and/or time-outs the single stream performance struggles.

On a good network people can converse orderly, in a noisy environment those who shout loudest convey the most information.

EU based.

That's pretty weird. When I run single thread downloads from a test server in the Netherlands, I get almost max line speed. I tested on a 7Mbps sync and got above 6Mbps actual throughput consistently :(

Could you PM me the link for the file you're testing?

Hmm, I was just about to post a screenshot of how the NNTP is full speed during the day but then ran the test and discovered it's still slow

Running full throttle with a WA account.

Are there any general international issues at the moment or is it NNTP that's being shaped?

I'd definitely like to test that link on my side, if you can PM me.

International a little buggered perhaps?

It's usually ~200ms.

Videos are not even playing. It maxes out at 25KB/s.

Anyone else experiencing high latency tonight, in the North?

Latency spikes to 400ms UK. AutoKick, rubberbanding, the works. Just lovely.

12PM on a Saturday and torrents are maxing out under 20kbps. What is going on? I thought the testing shapping was only for uncapped?

I also see that my downloads on capped are slow. Hopefully this passes soon :)

P.S. Im Back

Scanning all other AH client posts in different threads it is surely noticeable that all this, shaping, latency, snail download speeds is happening after the MTN buy out:confused:
