Ok. I have had enough of this BS. Afriguy,

Whats the process to cancel my account? At the same time invoke the guarantee below, as your service has been underwhelming.

"Satisfaction Guaranteed.
You have 60 days from signup to get DOUBLE your money back if you are not completely happy with our products and outstanding client service."

Anyone else experiencing extremely low speeds for P2P? Downloading from the app store and its quite fast but torrents is a disgrace?
If you have any suggestion with downloading P2P please share...

Really sorry that the service hasn't been as expected :( If your account is 60 days or newer, you can apply for your money back :(

Are other services slow too?
When there's high demand P2P is usually contended quite hotly.

I suspect p2p traffic is severely shaped at present, to allow for other services to function. Tried the other evening and was quite amused.

P2P has been screwed for a while now. So I ask again, why have a capped account? Like I said upthread, AH has until the next billing cycle to improve, otherwise I'm moving over to WA. We're all paying for a service here which we aren't receiving, no matter how Afriman/guy wants to sugar-coat it. NOT ACCEPTABLE. And the thing is, I really don't care for their excuses anymore. Honestly, not my problem.

Well I just switched to Afrihost to try, and well not good news. Can't even join an online gaming server, it just sits there waiting waiting, then times out. Switched back to Telkom and voila !! everything is perfect.

AH , your capped accounts are not good for any realtime activities at the moment. Probably OK just to download something overnight to kill the gigs we paid for.

Bought a Axxess capped account to test speeds.

News server download on Afrihost +- 29KB/s, on Axxess and connecting to the same "afrihost" news server my download is running at 2MB/s to 3MB/s on my 40Mbps line.

I really hope that Afrihost sort their issues out soon, have been punting them for while now to friends and family.

Speedtest with Axxess

Just did a test. Speedtest just tested full speed, but p2p is very slow.

I am on uncapped business ADSL, posted here by accident, but it seems that everyone is having the same issues with p2p on afrihost!

Very strange that Axxess runs smoothly as they are using the same network AFAIK.

But what is really strange is my speedtests are good and ping to international servers. Damn I even got less than 200ms to Germany, which is not bad.

BUT , try to connect and stay connected .. just not possible. Seems some severe shaping of some sort.. very erratic.

Thanks for your post, I can completely understand where you're coming from.
The high latency you mention here doesn't sound right at all though, have you run any tests with our team to determine the issues?

No I haven't. I'll do that first thing tomorrow though. TBH I just assumed it was the same problem everyone else was having. But I'll contact support and try to help if I can.

I'm new to the news server and am quite interested in it, could you explain please?

Is it too late for us to cancel this month? When is the next billing date? When do I have to put in my cancellation notice to not be billed next month? Paying for an internet lottery here.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe it's before the 25th of the month...
