Upgrades/ downgrades are seamless - we're having your query looked into to see why this happened.

BS. Clearly not seamless, in fact impossible.

I think one needs to accept that you cannot change anything during the month, but only at month-end, and even then you will be lucky if it goes as planned.

If I had only realised this I could just have gone and bought some data from someone else, and saved myself a lot of aggravation.

I don't think it's fair to generalise, we process many upgrades/ downgrades daily without any issues.

This has been going on for 5 days without any resolution, in spite of my detailed explanations.

Everybody thinks that they are gurus without even understanding the issue, and then proceed to screw it up even further.

Sometimes you have to listen to your client.

We're always listening :)
The tickets have already been logged with our Dev and Accounting teams - we'll have this sorted out for you as soon as we can.

Thanks. Please look at my first Support Request on 01/10/14, before it all went pear-shaped.

Obviously not the mobile one, you resolved that :D

What I always love how Afrihost uses the word soon, like "where working on it, and it will be fixed soon" Soon has been for like the last 3 weeks now. Maybe you should revert to "now now" in face I've had a ticket logged with afrihost for like 4 weeks now, and I'm still waiting for it to be fixed "soon" good job! Awesome turn around time.

Afrihost, I've been waiting and waiting, hoping for months now that you will finally sort out your speed and service issues. I've been fighting for consistent service for more than 6 months, but tonight I've finally had enough. I used to be such a fan, and have signed so many people up with you, but from the moment you moved on to MTN it it seemed like everything started to fall apart. Vague promises, unbelievable excuses, weird issues. Strange that speed test often seems fine, but I can't stream a Youtube video. iOS updates?!? For 4 weeks?!?!? Tonight for the first time the guy on the phone admitted you're having IPC issues with no ETA on when it may be resolved. I run a business that needs reliable internet. I base my entertainment and home lifestyle on what I can get online. Believe it or not, in this day and age internet access isn't some luxury that few can afford and that we should be grateful to have. It's a service that we pay for and expect to be delivered according to the standards we are promised. And the service right now is absolute balls.

It's been real, Afrihost, but I'm out.

I know nothing about buying IPC.

Is this something that can be done ad hoc or is there a known lead time?

If the decision to upgrade was taken today, you would be very lucky to see it happen in 3 - 4 months. It can take even longer.

Test definitely seem all over the place here. I know we are still seeing demand in the South but your experience should not be this unstable as far as I understand from the reports I have.

Have you run any kind of troubleshooting as yet?

Hi AfriMan,

I'm not sure what you mean by troubleshooting. I did restart the router to no avail. I also disconnected all devices off the router (except this one). No sure what else to do. As of posting this, the line seems stable. It seems very unpredictable when the line will give problems, so I'm unsure if it's due to peak usage or something else.

So now one of your support staff seems to be implying that I am lying when I state what your debits were to my account :

"Please forward us the statement that the amount R289.35 has come off your credit card so that we can confirm that it is true."

So I guess that you have no idea what your system is doing ?

Or do you send your support staff on a special course on "How To Alienate Clients"

Anyway, I have sent a copy of the statement with all the debits. The one of relevance is on 3 Oct.

was very bad last night, had a few torrents going and it was painfully slow, eventually stopped those as i needed to do some work and even browsing was slow :( not happy.

switched over to my webafrica (my last 1gb) just to do my work, i dont have anymore backup bandwidth so i really hope things will improve soon else i'll have no choice but to cancel my capped account with you guys.

I'm sorry that we haven't been able to give definite ETR's. We do try to be as open as possible, but it's also not helpful to give deadlines which we cannot fulfil. When we have confirmed deadlines from our team, then we can convey this.

I'm sorry that we've let you down. I absolutely take your point that the internet is more a necessity than a luxury in today's world and not getting the service you need has a real impact.

I'm just a bit concerned that you say you've had issues going back 6 months, as we only started seeing demand increase around end of September, and we're showing mostly normal performance at the moment.

Have we done full and thorough troubleshooting with you?

Peak usage should not desync your line or disconnect your account, so we need to work with you to find the possible cause.

Drop me a PM and let me get our team to test with you on this :(

IPC is definitely along term solution. It depends mostly on Telkom, availability of the technical resources and infrastructure. Generally we've seen anything from 6 weeks to 3 months :(
