Some of our Uncapped accounts were pulling additional bandwidth, the shaping on these accounts is being revised to free up extra bandwidth for consumption by our Capped and Business Uncapped users.

So the idea is for capped (& business uncapped) to always have zero issues with demand vs capacity, ever?

That's right!

Our Capped and Business Uncapped users should always receive the highest possible priority with bandwidth for all services, and our Uncapped users for real-time services.

This does mean that our Uncapped users will experience shaping on their P2P and HTTP downloads at times, we do need to make changes and updates to our system to ensure this remains consistent.

At this stage, our Directors have not yet reached a decision, as soon as they have reached a decision, we will update you on whether or not the offer will be extended.

I would not say the South has hit the IPC limit, we are just taking steps to ensure that our available bandwidth is being used as efficiently as possible by all of our users.

Is that a fancy way of saying we hit the limit but you are going to optimize traffic so that it is enough of an upgrade?

Not great at all, have these results been consistent throughout today?

We are in the process of making some tweaks and changes in the Southern Region, you should start to see your speeds return to normal shortly.

40mb line. Still working fine on WA.

This time I think the mybroadband speed test is playing up:



Web Pages are loading fine and I was streaming ok just an hour ago so that result can't be correct.

I will try again later but so far it feels like this afternoons load balancing has helped.

Ag nee man..Trying to download the latest NVidia GFX driver and it doing so ay snails pace.



This is unacceptable for a 40Mbps connection.

Now really getting fed up with the service delivery from Afrihost. First, months of issues with the IPC and being patient and now speed is like being on a 512kbps connection.

Well if last night was shocking tonight is just so totally a waste of time for streaming i'm gobsmacked speechless!
US Robotics 56k in the garage somewhere probably better.

Funny I tried my Axxess account and it was 95% better so it's not MTN.
Not as good as OW but you could live with it.

Hmmm... speedtests and pingtests seem to think I am in Pretoria... I have to manually select my CT location each time.

EDIT:

Switch to Axxess - knows my CT location.
Switch to WebAfrica - knows my CT location as does my Connection account.

Switch back to Afrihost - still seems to think I am in PTA.
