There was a preview in the previous newsletter about our coming competitions, we also have a link posted on our homepage with all of the competitions. As far as I am aware we do still send out monthly newsletters, although they may not be sent out at the same time each month.

The pool of voters for the MyBroadband Awards is any user who is subscribed to the MyBB newsletter, if you are subscribed you should receive a voting form.
Haven't seen a newsletter in many months except for the one boasting about being No.1. I have been a My BB subscriber for many years and definitely did not see a voting form.

My solution has now been to connect with a Webafrica account. I hope Afrihost has this resolved by next week.

Seems Webafrica is the way to go?

Anyone who has issues find solace in their Webafrica backup account.

Just a pity their service appears to be some what lacking. Also their calendars month notice period is slightly archaic. Not particularly good Hellopeter complaint/compliment ratio either.

What I will say, Afrihost online client zone is a thing of immense beauty and an absolute pleasure to use!

Hellopeter ratio of 23% vs WA's 15%...

At what point were speeds supposed to pick up? I missed it.
Could you please tell us at what time the network will be back to full speed?

our Shaping and Bandwidth management system is unique, and differs completely from most other ISPs. This is awesome as it makes our Uncapped accounts uniquely different from most other ISPs, but it does mean at times it takes a bit longer to troubleshoot and correct any issues.

I think AfriGenie is a Douglas Adams fan :)

We are now cruising at a level of two to the power of twenty-five thousand to one against and falling, and we will be restoring normality just as soon as we are sure what is normal anyway.

We are moving our Capped users to a different resource pool at this moment, this will then hopefully restore each Capped account to the full bandwidth it should be receiving.

Please don't drop any connections in the process, my download only has 20 min left to go after 6 hours of running and I need that damn file today.

Your connection should definitely not drop, all that is changing is the bandwidth profile assigned to your account.

Who previously had that resource pool? And won't they be pissed?

This is getting ridiculous...

It will probably be a new Resource Pool to test if we perhaps have too many users assigned to one pool, or if the issue is perhaps with the pool itself.

No matter what the problem, this is completely unacceptable. It's gone past the stage of "degraded" performance, to downright unusable.

This is on my 10mb Capped (Unshaped) account. Never thought I would see the day when my upload speed was higher than my download speed....

I've had a lot of patience with Afrihost over the past couple of months, but I'm starting to reach the end of my tether now..

Just Speedtested now on 10Mbps Line:

WebAfrica = 8.5Mbps
Axxess = 7.1Mbps
Afrihost = 3.3 Mbps
