Your ping seems OK, but not great though on local or international. We like to see sub 200ms when the network is performing well.

Could you please post a traceroute for me to look at?

I am based in Durban, maybe that is also useful information to you.
I didnt take a screenshot of speedtest.net but i believe my ping was around 20-30 which is as good as it gets.
A traceroute to where? twitch.com?
I am at work now and will only be able to post the results again tonight, and the problems usually only start later on at night anyway.

So with Afrihost+, if I have an existing MTN mobile contract with 250mb monthyl data, will it be provisioned with the extra 500mb?

If so, that makes it more attractive to me, as I also need the double data, but fully understand it was a promotion and needs to end at some point.

I signed up for the trial, and it does actually work. Provisioning was quick on my existing MTN SIM, just have to swap between mtn and AH APN's when one pool is finished.

Simfy is pretty ok for me, except no Rammstein :(

Maybe grab one to twitch.tv and mybroadband.co.za - just so we can compare the local and international :)

Just seen this now, that's pretty bleak :(
Overall though, they've got a pretty decent Metal selection.

I think the problem u got is Telkom doesn't do prorate for their lines. So if it comes online and in use 1 day before the new month u will get billed for the whole month. If they do sort it out, AH would be taking the knock on ur behalf.

The credit should have been loaded on your account already, have you been billed yet?
Drop me a PM and I can double check for you.

No no no that line was completed 03november from telkom and I was charged 545 for a 40mbps line on the day.

My line was 2mb up until few days ago

Received a invoice from afrihost this morning and it was all full pricing.

Should I pm you my account email?

That's not the case. You can't lose any benefits by adding Plus, but you may not be able to claim certain benefits. If you are on a non-standard data package on Capped or Mobile, then they may not be eligible for Double Data. You still retain regular bundle pricing. So you can opt to rebundle as a standard bundle, or stick with the heavily discounted bundle you already have.

Of course I will lose. I will lose the Line Discount. The only thing of interest to me is the Double Data. SO to get that - I need to drop my line discount and setup a standard Bundled account and then pay R99(145) for Plus+

I went through the Plus+ activation process last night and nowhere does it state any of this info - why not.
Even the place to Tick and accept T/C's does not link through to the said T/C's. Only on the bottom of the page is a T/C's link hidden.

Have you ever received double data before though? Some bundles didn't qualify for this, not sure if there's confusion between this and Plus+?

Are you wanting to do this locally?
If so, you'll need to setup QoS on your router.

I did explain this in a PM but it must have gotten lost.

I never used to have an issue when you guys were using your old management software. I live in a family of 5 so there is always someone streaming something. When they do my ping goes form 15 to 150. I've never had much faith in QoS and when I tried it last weekend it did nothing.

Is there anything else I can do?

From our end, realtime services are the same - so not sure if a stream is is consuming data to increase latency. When I watch HD content on my line it does spike the latency, I think that's normal though.
