Thanks for the reply,

According to the router, downstream is 8128 kbps and upstream 960 kbps.
So yes not bad at all. Pretty much getting what i should out of the line.

Thanks again. Regards.

Note: all my latency issues regarding CS:GO seems to be resolved. Have been running smoothly since last week Thursday. (Pretoria - Equestria area)

Looks good. Glad to hear things are performing better :)

This is what I have to deal with.

Edit: As you can see from roadcat's post, you do not notice the packet loss when streaming or browsing. Everything seems hunky dory. When you try and game however, its a different story.

PingTest shows 0% loss.

If general packet loss is at zero and it only happens with specific games, then we need to look at those specific traffic streams and analyse what could be different. Since there is no shaping active, then there is no restriction of classification of traffic that would cause latency or drop packets. Without any type of classification going on, there is no reason for one traffic stream to drop packets while others don't.

Yeah I don't even bother using my AH account for gaming at night. Just not worth it. Even my mumble cuts out from loss.

Thankfully I've got a backup Telkom account that works like a champ.

I am SO damn glad I am not the only person with this issue! Also experiencing the same and using alternate account for gaming.

Same here

Though i play bf4 ,my game stats are dropping and seems like one shot kills

On web africa it was so smooth

I just commented on this in the uncapped thread on BF4 as well. Packet loss doing performance tests. WA account smooth as ice as well. Glad our experiences match up.

Well by the looks of it, most if not all gaming is effected. Looks like most people are also having a problem with TS. I hope you guys are still looking into it.

As I mentioned on that thread as well, we continually test with Uncapped (shaped) and Capped (unshaped) accounts to replicate any issues we can. Obviously we can't test all the permutations and scenarios (we simply don't have enough game titles, and there's add-ons, upgrades, etc to consider). But we do constant updates on our systems based on the latest releases which the game developers and distributors provide to ensure we keep up to date with any changes to traffic or new type of traffic we may see from new games. With many games, especially Xbox, moving towards P2P traffic, this has been a challenge, but we're aware of this and we're being as proactive as possible to prevent any poor experiences that we can.

We did testing most of yesterday and we'll continue to test if we feel that there is still a problem. I must say though that with the huge variation in traffic types, match making policies etc on console and PC gaming these days, it's hard to investigate a blanket statement that all gaming is affected. We need specific examples that we can replicate and then analyse in order to address.

Please try and test during peak times, as this is when it's at it's worst. Don't even bother testing during the day. Get one of your guys to join a server in CS or BF later this evening and you'll see exactly what's going on. Last night it got really bad at about 8:30pm.

I don't actually know why I'm letting this get to me. I should vote with my wallet and leave because this is getting ridiculous. I'm tired of the same explanation's over and over again. Just because the bulk of your clients aren't complaining and don't know what is going on, doesn't mean that there isn't a HUGE problem. It is just so frustrating.

Our Critical Care team is testing the specific CS:GO, BF4 and Team Speak servers that have been mentioned as being problematic on this thread. If there is an underlying cause, they will find it. The biggest hurdle has been trying to replicate the latency and packet loss that has been reported.

One option is that the Critical Care team reach out to you and work with you to replicate what you are seeing, would you mind if they do this?

I want to add Afrihost has a problem with mumble too. Unless you're using TS as a blanket name for Voip programs. I also have experienced this annoying packet loss phenomenon.

Don't know, maybe it's another "South Only" issue.

We're looking at specific TeamSpeak servers that seem to be affected to a greater degree than most of the server services. Mumble should definitely not be having any throughput or latency issues, even in the South.

Are you seeing issues permanently with Mumble?

Please don't overlook console (especially next gen) issues, as we are also experiencing the packet loss issues.

Sorry but I think I'm done wasting my time getting nowhere. If it isn't sorted out by the 25th I'll just move on. You keep making it sound like it's an individual issue when it just isn't.

If mumble has the same problem then you can clearly see that it's more of a general issue. People on this thread are also reporting the same issues with BF4 on Xbox which uses completely different servers than CS. But hey, it doesn't effect the bulk of your clients so why worry about it..right?

We are working on improving the XboxOne connectivity, the Teredo IPv6 running over IPv4 has been causing issues all over the place, hopefully you guys will start to see the fruit of that soon.

From what we have the PS4 seems to largely be running okay as it uses IPv4 natively, have you had any negative experiences on the PS4?

Hi AfriTeam

International throughput is still sucky...

Is this related to this weekend's / yesterday's intermittent issues?

Not permanently, just during peak like what happens with CSGO. It's annoying as hell trying to play a match making game, getting 10-20% loss in game and your teammates keep cutting out on mumble. As soon as I switch to my Telkom account (within the same match) all the problems go away.

That international speedtest definitely does look off. The weekend's issue was largely affecting local throughput. Could you please run a traceroute to Google.com, I just want to make sure your traffic isn't being routed incorrectly.

I can only imagine how annoying it must be! We're definitely investigating this full steam on our side, we're pretty much running tests across multiple platforms and connection types to see if we can isolate what is causing this. As I said, our biggest stumbling block is recreating what you guys are seeing on your end/

Try doing tests from the south to JHB servers. Most of the match making servers are in JHB. I'll try get some detailed results tonight and PM you.

It's gotten so bad that I don't even bother looking. When I want to play I just switch over to Telkom.
