Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

Hi @AfriFella

Im on a 8mb 100Gb capped service receiving double data each month.

If I'm not mistaken, I received an email last year where we could opt to either continue with the double data promotion or change to a better shaped service but keep your base cap.

Has these changes been implemented or does it start as from 1 March 2017? I cannot recall when it was suppose to be implemented.

Heya OsMoFF. Your package would have defaulted to Shaped Capped if you did not specify which package you wanted to move to when we sent the mail. In other words, these changes would have been implemented on your account already. :)

You can edit your package, ie. switch between Shaped Capped and Unshaped Capped in ClientZone under "Edit Package". Drop me a PM with your details if you need a little more clarity. :)

Hi @AfriFella,

I'm giving you guys one last chance to resolve my issue (ticket UPT-822-85778). Otherwise I will leave you with this glaring hole in your network and move to an ISP that works (Trial accounts with other ISPs work fine, it is, as far as I can see an issue with only afrihost). I like your prices, your network is stable, but this is a deal-breaker for me, and so far nobody has actually been any help on your side, to the point where I have yet to hear back on this ticket.

Afternoon,

Our Team should definitely have been able to resolve this by now. I'm going to ask our Critical Care Team to contact you directly to assist you with getting to the bottom of this!

Which DNS servers are you using at the moment? Are you able to ping any websites?

Interesting point that. I use OpenDNS (Cisco Umbrella) and my performance has been really good lately. Browsing, Youtube etc..

Couldn't even stream videos from sites other than YouTube on any device earlier. Even YouTube though was defaulting to poor quality.

I've asked previously if there can be separate threads for Unshaped and Shaped Capped , in order to compare apples with apples. Obviously this didn't happen :( I want to suggest one more thing and that is to give these issues with the South/Cape Town its own thread until resolved. Clearly AH have a problem down under, and I'm sure at least 500 of the posts in this thread is about that. It really makes it difficult to see other non-Cpt issues. Or just rename this one to Issues in the South and create a new one for Capped

Please

Is someone from AH able to check if my line has been moved to holding pool?

Interesting suggestion, but it's not the kind of call I can make on my own. I'll pass your suggestion onto the powers that be. :)

Ultimately, we want users to have the same experience no matter where they are based in the country and to not have a need for region specific threads. :)

I fully agree, but the South problem is flooding the 'Country Experience' at this point, hence my suggestion . After the South has been resolved, you can lock that thread.
