Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

how long are you still going to test this has been going on since last year and the only time the latency and speeds were fine was when you started the new network but obviously it has gotten overcrowded since then and now we have to sit with this crap every night

To be fair... For most of last year the network was running okay. When an issue arises we'll do our best to resolve it as quickly as possible. That's why we ask you guys for traceroutes and speedtests, these help us to isolate and rectify the issue.

I would assume it should be the same latency I highlighted in my post, with traceroutes for the entire day.

Yeah... Those... Sorry... :erm:

I only really clicked that you had attached the traceroutes after I posted my reply. Thanks, I really do appreciate it!

Is there any other sites you would find useful for me to automatically monitor? Might as well get the info you need now, because with current knowledge I'm only with AH until end of Feb.

Those sites are perfect, you could maybe add Afrihost.com?

How many trace routes and speed tests do you need? Night after night people specifically in the CT area are posting all sorts of results yet nobody ever receives any feedback!

You guys act surprised to see everyone's posts yet you all know exactly what the problem is. Stop wasting people's time by pulling the wool over their eyes and upgrade your IPC in the south. Another thing is your network status on your website reflects there are no issues, you know this is BS! You guys are slowly making a reputation for yourselves as the most dishonest ISP available.

Keep it up.

+1

I actually don't think it's IPC (as that's something they can easily "see" on a graph). I rather think it's a router or something that's reaching it's limitations in terms of what it's capable of (especially in terms of buffer space due to all the shaping and queuing of packets) :) But, what do I know...

My MetroEthernet can't be installed soon enough :D

We have completed maintenance on our network in the south and we're currently monitoring performance. I'm happy to pass any tests and feedback onto our NOC and Network Team.

Clearly it's not sufficient.

How so? No one has seen any improvement in performance.

Great improvement!

Serious issues on hop 3 and 11, pings are crazy high for local. Not sure what's happening on the middle either.

Before you point the finger at my exchange.

I try to download a Nvidia driver sitting at 10.2kbps. This is really pathetic now...

I think it is back to the drawing boards here for AH. The upgrade did not fix the problems. I just hope they can get this sorted out soon.
