Afrihost Capped DSL Feedback

When the Double Data promotion ended the Unshaped Capped accounts remained at the same size as they were. We tried to keep the Double Data promotion going as long as possible, but we weren't able to extend it any further.

You could still use Plus+ to lock in your Double Data permanently for your Unshaped Capped account.

I am paying for Afrihost plus but I am still on a shaped account? You guys are stuffing me around. I'm effectively paying R399 for a 300 + 300 shaped account. If I look in your "Change account" section the shaped 400 + 400 account for R399?

There was no communication of any changes to my account, no options given to me. I am so pissed off that I have been struggling with this stupid account for who knows how long because you changed it without asking me what would be good for me.

Every couple of years this WTF decision making debacle rears its head.

Plus+ gives you the option to add Double Data, 2-for-1 Topups and a Soft-Cap to your Capped DSL account. You will be able to switch to an Unshaped Capped account from your ClientZone by going to Connectivity, selecting our Capped account, choosing Edit Package then scrolling down to find the Unshaped Capped account options.

Every Client that would have been affected by the split in package would have received an email from us explaining the changes that were being made and being given the option to switch to the Unshaped Capped option.

But at a higher price. As i said - I was paying R699 for 400gb bundle before the promotions. Then after the promotions I would have had to pay over R1000 for 400gb bundle. I was not upset that the promotions ended. I was upset that I would have to pay a lot more to stay on what I had before the promotions started. But anyways, not going to get into this again. Was just stating that the way things were done were not on, in my opinion. Have a good day.

If I can help with anything going forward, please let me know.

Except I dont have any of those options. If I click on additional services I get the afrihost + "sign up now" page.

In the ClientZone? Do you go to Other Services, select Plus+, then your Plus+ product then you should see Manage Benefits.

So what does this have to do with you changing me from an unshaped account to a shaped one and then still charging me for the double your data thing?

Except the ones that signed up for unshaped because that's what they wanted then got shaped just because.

You had and have the option to change it to unshaped. Decide whether you want more data or unshaped data. I think you can change it every month?

The Plus+ benefits are separate to whether or not your account is Shaped or Unshaped. That just means you will permanently have Double Data.

You can change your package to an Unshaped account from the ClientZone. You just need to go to Connectivity, select your Capped account then go to Edit Package.

Haven't been playing cs for 3 weeks, played one game ping went to 110 then back to 40.

Searching for a new game and it say my best ping to servers are 120ms?

I was playing CS GO for most of the day without trouble.

But at about 18h00 I was flying around the map. Ping was almost 800. Restarted game and was at 200 for a few minutes before shooting to 600.

Restarted router and it was back to about 30. But did not play for long after the restart

Please let me know how it tests throughout the course of the night, if you can. :)

So. My line was downgraded again. From 4mb to 2mb to 0.4mb. For some reason my upload seems to go up and up. Still my line goes down at 10am and comes back up at 6pm. Only difference now is my speeds.

What are your line stats (SNR & Atten)?

I don't think that's a line downgrade. :(

That sounds more like an issue on your DSL line. Can you please PM me your DSL line number and I'll check if we need to log a fault for you.
