Afrihost Cell C network problems

Hah Ha I have to laugh.. cellc support told me to switch router off if I don't need connection, So that when I switch it back on it might connect to a less congested tower.. the creativity in their answers, hilarious..
The service and product is crap and I'm sorry I signed up.. Afrihost told me not to go RAIN because their network more congested than Cellc ... but it seems Afrihost is all about BS..
Ridiculous response from Cell C, but the problem is Afrihost. Axxess and Mweb clients do not experience the issue. And Afrihost is dodgy as hell. Only provider experiencing this problem and also only provider charging R999 cancellation fee. Coincidence? I think not. They know they are selling people a faulty product and that is why they charge that R999 cancellation fee. They know people will cancel within a week of signing up. @AfriNatic you are scum.

But I guess I should not be surprised. Went on HelloPeter and Afrihost has a rating of 1.7 out 5 after more than 3000 reviews. Will never ever sign up with anything through them again.

I have had basically no service for days. When the router shows 4 bars - message is 'Disconnected' when it shows no bars, message is 'No service'. When I was still getting a connection last week the speeds were terrible - 7 down, 0.5 up. Have spent hours on whatsapp chats with all the usual 'fixes' suggested that reconnected me for 5 minutes max.

Has anyone succeeded in getting Afrihost to cancel the package without the fee?
Has anyone had better Cell C service from another provider - Axxess, Webafrica?

I'm done for when my RAIN deal ends... I am using my RAIN sim because CELL C is Flippen crap with AFRISCUM

It appears to be an Afrihost problem not Cell-C. It seems peeps from other ISP's don't have quite the same issues we have. My Afrihost Rain deal was finished and like an idiot I migrated over to Afrihost's Cell C. Shame shame shame on me. Never never again.

I must say though WHEN it does work though I get good speeds. Haven't struggled with slow speeds as with Rain yet. Knock on wood.

My connection seems to have improved, been connected for over 4 hours now without a drop. Will continue to monitor

Since I have a day off from work, I decided to pop in the cell c sim and test the speeds..... Still crap speeds but connection seems to be stable.... Not sure because it is due the morning

Webafrica coverage via Cell C is exactly the same.Lousy customer service from WA and lousy coverage from Cell C.

Okay so here is my input for today, stable connection for about 8 or so hours but the speeds to load web pages is awful..... Watching a live stream keeps buffering. So I decided to pop in the RAIN sim and boom no buffering. Guess the last thing to sort out now is the speed.

No disconnections today whatsoever. Speed is good. Knock on wood. @compu it sounds like our situations are reversed with regards speed, Rain's speed for me is awful.

I am not sure what can be done now but from what i see on the opensignal app, the router points to a tower located on a hill and that is a bit too far for it to be connected. I am not sure if these guys can actually switch the router to point to the tower which is close to me.

lol I am not sure what i am going to do when the RAIN deal is up.

BUT on a side note, i switched on my mobile data to see if the problem was with the congestion in the area and yep it definitely is. Even on 4G, the damn thing was still buffering and this is with Cell C.

Damn that sucks. Maybe Rain will come out with different and similar rates as soon as the whole promotion timeline is over.

No lost connections by Afrihost Cell-C today again either. The last two days are literally the smoothest I've had since I've been on it. Hopefully the problem is permanently fixed now, and hopefully my fast speeds remain.
