Awesome indeed, until you hit the FUP... and get throttled back to 18kbytes/sec
 
Capped Shaped, even on fiber?
AH lost the plot when they started this shaped business on capped accounts.

At least they give you a choice (which is not a bad thing). More data for more shaping.

Obviously if another providers unshapped capped is cheaper or comparible to their shapped capped, go with that other provider.

Although I'm 100% for choice, IMO all capped data should be unshaped at the cheaper price point.

I did, I went with a provider that charges the same as their shaped accounts but is unshaped.
It's a beautiful thang! :)
 
R1547pm for 500GB unshaped @ 100Mbps is pretty much what my current 500GB Crystal Web account costs, without the benefit of uncapped usage up to 6pm every day.

At least I have a backup plan if CW goes to hell.

Afrihost - Fix your network. Revisit traffic prioritization. Increase customer satisfaction levels. Drop in prices is just dangling a carrot to empty promises.
 
What is the the practical difference between Home, Premium and Priority? Afrihost's website is very vague on this

Well, when shaping has to happen, Home gets shaped first, if more shaping is required Premium users get shaped too and then last to get shaped will be Priority.

They all have Fair Usage Policies with different amounts of GB too I think

Thanks, that pretty much what their website had as well. But how often does Home gets shaped? Every day peak time or perhaps once a months? Anyone on the Home/Premium package that have experienced this?

Update – No “shaped” fibre accounts

The shaped capped prices listed in the table have been removed, as their inclusion was an error.
 
Failing to understand why these prices are more expensive than ADSL data.Also why do you pay more for data on a 100MB line vs 4MB line?

If shaping bothers you, stay away from home.
