Afrihost details ADSL network upgrade

A little late, I have already cancelled my uncapped to move to Mweb. It's has been virtually useless, but I must keep paying full price until the end of Feb before it becomes usable!?! I don't think so...

So has this actually helped any CPT uncapped users?
Decreased latencies? etc. Traceroutes?

Wonder how many customers Afrihost have lost since their move to MTN?
I am one of them.

+1
I'm sure many - MTN are pathetic compared to IS.
With MTN I have to wait for youtube to buffer on 10mbps - IS just plays straight up.

I cancelled last weekend as the service has gone to the dogs.

We are in a similar area, though I don't have issues with them. You are referring to uncapped? We use their capped service, and do about 750GB per month without problems.

So far I'm impressed with Afrihost's move. Bandwidth has been solid any time of day on my business account.

Too late for me. I also cancelled both my afrihost and my axxess accounts in the last month.

MTN was the biggest mistake ever..

Happy with Afrihost. I did 1.7 TB last month on 10Mbit business account and going strong this month also

Hmmm, I am not on there at all even though I've done more than anyone on the list

Correction: I am the CEO under 10Mbit business :D

What :wtf: ... How??? Teach us your ways

Im lucky if my speed passes 10kb from 8am - 11pm http , torrents or whatever else.

I'm on capped, just running a couple of tests : 4mbps

1) google images : bit slow to load at times
2) youtube : no problems with newer stuff (can view 1080p without buffering what so ever)
3) http downloads (from overseas) 412 average - really not bad (think the server is in France)
4) Uploads to FTP servers in Germany - consistent full speed (and even more it seems according to filezilla :)

Gaming ... 225 ms max to Bosnia gaming server, not bad seeing that I'm in the gatkant of SA.

So all in all , good product for my needs.. but let's not get too excited ... :p
