Afrihost details ADSL network upgrade

With every one leaving Afrihost I must say its much better than before ;) Might just stick it out!

Maybe MYBB should start a thread on how many Afrihost users migrated to another ISP. Judging from the complaints on their Facebook page, many users have left. Afrihost simply underestimated the capacity of the inferior network they moved to (MTN vs IS)and paid the price. This latest attempt by them may be too little too late.

Moved over to OpenWEB Vanilla Uncapped for half the price of Afrihost and MWEB's woeful over congested networks.

What :wtf: ... How??? Teach us your ways

Im lucky if my speed passes 10kb from 8am - 11pm http , torrents or whatever else.

Because he is on 10Mb BUSINESS uncapped, not home uncapped... therein lies the difference.
Remember all the posts of people who said they phoned Afrihost and complained and all of a sudden things were better? Well, this just proves that we are all being screwed by them, and that it's their QoS being set up in such a manner as to give their customers a little pipi-trickle of bandwidth.

Sorry Afriscam, but it's too little too late - I've switched to Plugg last year already and I'm happy again, I'll also never again support Afrihost on any level or product, as a matter of principle.

Afrihost capped/prepaid: :) (most of the time)

Afrihost uncapped: :(

How much notice do i have to give to cancel a non-business uncapped afrihost account? I might actually need decent speeds next month during the day so this QoS nonsense worries me...

Month-to-month

It's a month-to-month "contract", so no notice period.

I'd suggest watching your account next month though, just in case, and simply reverse any debit from them.

I am always glad to see good news such as this - companies on the growth when most are going through tough times

We give you a notice when you cancel of when the cancellation is effective (i.e. last payment period). If we've set the effective date to the current month, you won't be billed again, unless you have other products (domain, hosting, ESET) which continue as normal :)

Sorry to hear you're thinking of cancelling. Generally if you cancel before the 25th (except in Feb or December) you should be able to avoid being billed for the following month. If you cancel and it says otherwise, we may have already started our billing run.

Drop me a PM if you have problems, I'm sure I can help :)
