Afrihost dismisses acquisition rumours

Would be a dream if Afrihost took over MTN. MTN needs a change in management, attitudes, thinking. But that would only be a dream.

Yes Afrihost, please buy out Mtn, maybe their website will change from the '80s scripting they have at the moment (suitable for Netscape 0.03a) and maybe their service will improve!

(before you comment......I know :))

What? And inherit all MTN's political baggage? :erm:

Would be awesome though... (MTN acquisition, not political baggage)

Ummm, the article states Afrihost is a acquisition target for MTN, meaning MTN will be taking over Afrihost not so?

I think you guys may have it backwards and the last thing you want is MTN in charge of Afrihost :(

I can confirm that Afrihost has not engaged in any talks of this nature with MTN thus far

thus far? interesting.

Its called wishful thinking. We both read the article am sure, and just dreaming a bit that it was the other way around. With Mtn and Afrihost DNS servers down so quickly after their courtship, am not so sure it's such a good idea

Hey Guys, just checking that we're all on the same page here.

Gian and our Directors have confirmed that there are absolutely no talks in progress nor will their be in the foreseeable future, to sell Afrihost to MTN, or to anyone else for that matter. As Gian commented on the original IT Web article, he has a mission and he aint done yet.

Don't believe the hype!! ;)

We got told the rumours of our company being sold were false and we should ignore it, 3 months later the company was sold :)

They tend to keep these things extremely hush hush.

I hope so, I don't want to be a client of MTN. Afrihost has a good thing going, don't spoil it.

Afrihost needs to start saving up as much as they can and take over MTN

Similar thing happened to me 13 years ago. Rumours of our company liquidating, denied by management, then bam, one Monday morning(2 weeks later) the gates and doors were locked.
