That causes most of the issues. Cant be easy being an ISP with unreliable power in SA.Loadshedding?
You should correct the post title. Vumetel is not Afrihost. On Vumatel

Could be far worse. You could have Frogfoot as your FNO and you'd be down far more! Most useless FNO around to be honest. I have Vumatel's box right next to Frogfoot but then again they've done themselves no favours by increasing prices! They should offer support. And they didn't
I've had your vacated Frogfoot fibre slot for a week now. No downtime yet.Could be far worse. You could have Frogfoot as your FNO and you'd be down far more! Most useless FNO around to be honest. I am ON Frogfoot. Nothing was vacated. They're cheaper. If you're in PLZ, then you're lucky to not have downtime. If you aren't, then you don't know what happens here on an almost daily basis.I've had your vacated Frogfoot fibre slot for a week now. No downtime yet.
In GHT, so probably going through PLZ.I am ON Frogfoot. Nothing was vacated. They're cheaper. If you're in PLZ, then you're lucky to not have downtime. If you aren't, then you don't know what happens here on an almost daily basis.
Yeah, but you know it's not on the ISP to power the FNO's network. As an ISP you can do everything to keep every core network part from where the FNO hands-off, but if their pop's and exchanges are down, well not much you can do about that. Even offering cheap battery backups for the clients, if the FNO is out during loadshedding then what can you do :/Agree
Thank goodness my ISP has invested in backup power exactly because of this, even the last time we had Stage 6 loadshedding for a week my connection was always up 100%.
I guess you get what you pay for (in some cases).
I'm not even sure of the difference between an ISP and an FNO. My ISP did the trenching a few years back straight to me, it wasn't a big Frog person or whoever they're called.Yeah, but you know it's not on the ISP to power the FNO's network.
