Afrihost down

You thought Afrihost would have their main sites hosted with Both IS & MTN to avoid inaccessibly like today?

My sites are hosted on barney.aserv.co.za server which seems to sit at MTN and are online...

My other site hosted on thunder.aserv.co.za server which seems to sit at IS and is offline...

Fail-over Afrihost fail-over?????

LMAO - can see how Afriman is running around for a fax modem and Telkom dial up account!

Up and down yesterday too.. moved my data across to Afrihost on Monday, and its been a pain. My bad luck.

Yep, bad luck it is...give them a chance though
I've been hosting with them for the past 7 years and had really very little issues or down time.

I guess they are all up in arms now as the new cape town IPC has issues and with so many different people working on the connectivity issues (telkom, mtn etc, etc) it seems to have affected the whole scene of business.
Having said that, i think the hosting is on the IS back...so not sure if the problem is not with the IS cable.
Anyone??

Seems the problem is on hop 13, which normally is 196.34.134.105
Hob 14 is normally gw.aserv.co.za

IS solutions on hop 9 is ok.

Good work by Afrihost. I was getting a bit worried there but it's up and running again. :)

Does Afrihost ever publish any Indecent reports ?
I have to report on the downtime we receive and not once been able to get an incident report.
It is required for our corporate governance but it always feel like im working with a Micky mouse company.
there is no way to manage SLA's according to Incidents and 9 times out of 10 their notice board does not reflect any incident.
I have to basically try suck information out of I.S to have an understanding of the issue.

I would like to receive incident reports relating to the outage and how it was resolved, and what will be put in place to prevent it happening in future.
We had the same issues with I.S where engineers would do scheduled maintenance on the outside firewall and effect us time and again, till they finally stopped maintenance till after hours.

Has anyone requested incident reports in the past, and how did you get them ?

Indecent reports? Proxy reports on porn sites?

AfriHost, care to publish the offending IP numbers in the DOS Attack - we can always line up the LOIC for you :-)
