Afrihost. GREAT SPECIAL

so in September afrihost had this special where everything was half price until December
so i thought wow great lemme give this a try

on the 25th of September i purchased a 4096 kbps uncapped account that was supposedly billed as R283.50 each month. great i paid their pro rata of R88 for the remainder of September. and was successfully billed for October . Then today i get a call from Std Bank saying are you authorizing this debit order of R497 and i said no. i then got onto the phone with afrihost.

Their Reason is a good one.. in september i paid pro Rata of R88 but instead they gave me the discount twice!!!! in september. and once in october

so in september i paid R33 for 4 days of uncapped with 2 x 50% off specials.. instead of being billed 50% until december. they then said for me to cancel the account with them.. i first need to pay this month.

Anyone else having an issue or am i just unlucky with broadband ISP's

Yeah, also got invoiced for the full amount for November.. October was fine. Thought the 50% off special was for the remainder of the year.. Just going to cancel it now I guess.

I got a pre debit invoice notification of R950 for my 100gb capped account for the month of November. Queried it, they acknowledged the error and corrected it. Was debited the correct amount, R475...

Phone them, I have the (capped) and also received an invoice for the full amount. Got the correct (discounted) invoice a day later.

Same thing happened to me with the 25GB capped account, I sent an email 30 minutes ago, just waiting for a response.
I also had a glitch on the 1st of November where my 50gigs wasn't recharged for the month, I emailed them and apparently there systems glitched. It got sorted out within an hour or two. Maybe that systems glitch is the reason for the incorrect billing. All I know is they better sort out my invoice or I'm canceling my account.

I'm going to try Axxess Just Uncapped 4096 for R496 next month (leaving Mweb). It allows two concurrent connections, so if you share (which I'm going to do) then it's R248/month.

I have been with Axxess 4096 since July, I am throttled during the day but I sometimes I get more than 500kb a second (mostly weekends). Afrihost is getting a bit narf with their deals.

i did call them they said it is not a mistake! so i told them i wont pay the full amount because you are giving out false advertising

Oh and i would stick to axxess cause afrihost throttles you after doing 40 gig in a month they hammer you.. im talking non accessible websites.. download speeds of about 10kbps.

I phoned Afrihost 5 minutes ago and they explained that there was an error on their part last month where the 50% discount was added twice, therefore the R237,50 wasn't deducted from my account. That's why they are charging the full R475 for this month, and the 50% discount will be added next month.

They did deduct the correct amount last month from my account, but this month they requested the full amount.

I checked my statement and only the Pro-rata(around R33) for September was deducted.
The guy I spoke to did say if the payment was deducted for October I should give them a call back and they would correct the problem.

Sorted! though they invoiced me for Oct they never deducted. So Nov was Oct and Nov invoices together.

Arg... I get like 6 seperate invoices a month for different services... and I signed up for them at different times in the month. Now I gotta go check through them all to make sure everything's ok. ugh.
