Hi all,

Anyone else experiencing issues on Afrihost?
Using Afrihost Capped on Telkom FTTH.

I'm unable to log into Steam, Skype, can't get to Facebook, Twitter, Afrihost website, Afrihost ClientZone, etc, etc. but some local sites work (like MyBB).

Traceroutes are all fine.

Crud started right in the middle of a Dota game :( :( :(

EDIT: Seems like EVERYTHING that uses SSL is broken. HTTP sites load fine. Afrihost, turn that stupid transparent proxy/cache off!!

It is "fun" to be honest. I moved to vox and kept 10gb on afrihost for back up.

Each time I have issues on vox I have the same issues on afrihost. Vox fatpipe had terible latency and afrihost gave me low latency. Now I am stuck with both giving high latency and their support will not even say that 70 is high.

I get 23 to jhb with web africa. If I did not have a tb left of data with vox I would have left them months ago. sigh

Leave. Same advice I'll give anyone in a cancerous relationship. Sure you might have love (or terabytes) for them still, but the relationship isn't bringing you joy, in fact, it is the opposite... and someone has to be the first to admit the relationship isn't working anymore, why not the person who this affects most (you) #reallife

Hi

Sounds like an odd one indeed.
Just ran through a few tests this morning and can't seem to spot an issue from my end. If you're still having issues with HTTPS please shoot me a PM with your DSL username so I can take a closer look.

Thanks for the response.

It's the usual case of it being fixed by the time someone can look at it and run said tests. Probably network techies breaking things in the early hours of the morning without telling anyone.

Vox and Afrihost both use Sandvine... Coincidence that issues occur at the same time? Unlikely...

Our Support team are available 24/7 for assistance :)
We are in no way linked to Vox though, regardless if we use Sandvine our equipment won't be linked.

May be support are at work 24/7 but as in my latest case after 18 hours I got asked if the fault is still there. By that time the ongoing fault of a mailserver that is off is resolved. I have already submitted about 20 requests for this fault over 2 years yet it is always coming back.
I feel I pay for 24/7 service and not to have a mailserver down and I cannot send e-mail for hours at a time.
