I took a pic of mine with my cellphone, and they accepted it![]()
Sadly I just wasted 5 minutes of my precious time here ... tally ho!
Another ID10T who does not read the entire page and them blames someone else for his mistake:
"*INSTANT ACTIVATION: Existing Afrihost clients will be instantly activated. New clients will need to take one extra step to verify their details by faxing or emailing through a photo or copy of either their ID or driver's licence after which their account will be activated."

RASI'm actually glad this happened. Now surfing with GConnect.
Quickly registered and 5GB is R20 cheaper than Afrihost.
SO....if I purchase another 20GB it's a R100 saving for me.
Thanks GConnect!

I was with Axxess for a couple years now and just this past Monday I decided to move to Afrihost for International and WA for local...was simple and easy and not to mention much cheaper. R29 p/gb as opposed to R70. Plus...top up is just R14.50 p/gb. Brilliant!!!
Top up is only R14.50/gb when the special is on...
That is true Randhir, however...a mate of mine has been with them a couple months now and they have been pretty constant in having this "special".
Why do you persist with spreading this rumour? It is not a RICA requirement. If it was, then all the other ISPs would be acting illegally. I have accounts with 3 ISPs and only Afrihost requested the copy of the ID.
Gian stated some time back that the reason for the ID copy was to prevent fraud. Now you may agree or disagree with the reason, and personally I disagree with the requirement, but I weighed this up against the attractive pricing, and decided to go with Afrihost. It is my fourth month, and so far I am happy.
So please, stop with this RICA nonsence. RICA is for the cell phone industry not for internet access.
