Afrihost launches fixed LTE-A packages

Great speed network, yet killed by the high costs for low caps.
All these muppets have done is copy/pasted the failed ADSL model that has hamstrung SA, the last 10+ years.

I'm not sure I follow? :erm:

A Capped Data model allows a good balance between affordability and the amount of data that you get.

Won't replace fibre at all. Could probably finish your cap in a single day. Those small caps at those high prices won't fly.

Had they implemented something like 'free time' from midnight to 6am, then maybe. But then again, the initial costs are so high

Neotel have been doing a fixed LTE product that is essentially uncapped (Very easy to understand FUP) at a fixed bit rate for years. I had a 4mbps fixed LTE with them which has now run its course but performed really well.

I think customers prefer this approach rather than having to constantly check usage to ensure they're okay for the rest of the month and then having to top up. And quite honestly no one cares if they're temporarily getting a 30mbps burst because the network is relatively underutilized - until it's not and gets overly congested.

You do realize that some AAA title games these days are in excess of 50gig download? And watching Netflix on HD is in excess of 1gig an hour? :p Yep, welcome to today :D

Not sure why the above approach isn't possible, technically speaking, with other similar LTE products. Maybe there is a reason?

Its impossible not to know about Afrihost's latest offering, seeing that their unsubscribe button doesn't actually unsubscribe you.

It's a good option for people that don't have DSL or Fibre in their area. :)

You should definitely be able to use the Un-subscribe button on our Mails. Do you get an error message if you use it?

I'll need to double-check for you. Could you quickly PM me a screenshot of that mail please.
