Not everybody is downloading 25GB Blu Ray rips of every movie ever made.
30GB a month is plenty for me.
That said, I don't think the pricing is that competitive and also the entry price is too high.
Not everyone just checks mail once a month or uses the google to check a recipe on making prune juice.
Streaming, steam, etc etc
@AfriGenie - I thought being owned by MTN hampered your ability to bring disruptive products to the market? Now that you own yourselves again when are we going to see something exciting again? This is just bleh.....
Too much price for too little cap.
Afrihost, please explain why you insist on forcing people to buy a router with this? This is a complete deal breaker for me. I have a perfectly good LTE-A router that I could use, forcing me to buy another router is ridiculous.

That's the way Rain has specifically packaged this deal. As much as we want to, at the moment we are not able to alter the implementation of this offer.
So you're basically excluding almost all of your existing wireless clients who already have LTE-A routers from switching to this deal unless they've got more money than sense. I'm certainly not going to waste R2k on possibly the ugliest LTE-A router ever produced when I already have one.
I think you guys are missing the point.
Rain probably went to Afrihost asking them to resell their product, just like they did with WebAfrica and MWeb.
Afrihost did not have any say in the structure of this product, and only bolted this onto their existing service portfolio to offer access to those that do not have ADSL or Fibre.

Rain should stick to their business of selling data and leave the purchasing of devices to the consumer. Forcing consumers to purchase a specific device to have access to their network is just plain stupid and shows utter contempt for the consumer.
It is actually a good deal for a 4G LTE Cat9/Cat11 Router when you consider that it actually costs $489 (R6,378)

Why would you even consider them when you can buy the router from Mweb for R1599 for the same thing?

With WebAfrica and probably Mweb too, you have to give a calendar month's notice before you can cancel, so even if you cancel immediately after receiving the router, you owe them at least R1,098 which brings the total to R2,697.
With Afrihost if you cancel before the 24th of a month, it gets cancelled that same month.
Not fair to compare like that because you would essentially get double the data compared to Afrihost for the same price had you canceled immediately with Afrihost.
