Afrihost launches Pure Uncapped LTE

Express VPN just works. Could not get unlocater smart dns to work with telkom lte.
In my case it's a little hard because my entire household uses a smart dns to unblock Australian streaming services and it's a little hard and expensive to setup a vpn on a roku express for my not so computer literate mother to watch her favorite australian shows.

If I went the vpn route I would get a static ip address to avoid shared "ip address blacklisting" and a second router as an access point for the entire family to use.

My current setup is fibre with 3 family members setup with getflix on their own streaming devices but for people like me who don't have fibre, this is the only option with lte or purchase a vpn router for which is VERY expensive.

To use a smart dns with telkom you need to change your apn to unrestricted under the router settings tab.

Yeah did that, my router even got hacked after day or so lol

Someone logged changed i.p of the router, had to reset it.

To be honest, speeds are not great, but it's deffo better with a VPN, thats for sure. I'm actually using Express at the moment, but my month is running out, and i don't know if there is anything better out there. I've been doing a bunch a research, and seems that NORD,Express and SurfShark are pretty good options. I just checked out Windscribe but they want $1000 for lifetime membership - no way i'm paying that upfront for a VPN.
No need to get the lifetime. Just get build a plan for $2 per month per location and unlimited data with ROBERT adblocking.

I told my in law to scrap roku , moved to firestick which has express vpn app on the app store, everything working much better now. She had watch UK shows, otherwise she drives me insane!

Tried that a while back and got errors almost all the time from streaming sites that I was using a blacklisted ip address. You never know what other people are using a vpn for and all vpn's provide shared IP's to remain anonymous.

If I ever do go with a vpn in the future it will be with torguard vpn's static ip address feature or their streaming bundle which provides 2 streaming ip's.

Strange never had any issues and support even unblocked Showmax for me as well.

Not on LTE.
20-30 Gbps here.

Got excited when I saw the headline, couldnt leave quickly enough when I saw the price.

Oh and Rain sucks..
Working great for me apart from random disconnects some nights.

Care to explain where and how ? - there is no such option on their website that i can see

Oh wow - i swear i'm going senile or something. 2 hrs ago when i went to the homepage - the only option that was there was some 7000 odd year plan at 0.00001c per month or something, or $1000 once off....

Now it shows as you see it in your screenshot.

Sigh

Anyhoo - thanks @backstreetboy

I wonder if these will have data roll-overs? Isnt that required these days by icasa?

"Previously, users were allowed to use this data from 00:01 until 05:59. However, MTN has now reduced this validity period to 00:01 until 04:59."

From a previous article on mbb

So where is the night time data valid until 6?? You now have an extra hour that comes off your main data.
Hey Gazg
Our night-time data is available between midnight and 06:00 every day :)

I wonder how big the market is for this...Surely most people who can afford R3k a month on internet are living in area's with fibre coverage :D

All Uncapped LTE packages are subject to a monthly threshold of 1TB. Once you’ve reached your monthly data limit, your connection speed will be limited to 1Mbps for the remainder of the month.

Is this a threshold on Any time + Night time data combined, or 1TB Any time / 1TB Night time?

With Rain R250 Unlimited Off Peak I currently stand on 725GB with speeds between 20 - 50mbps and that is Netflix streaming, working from home, kids updating and downloading xbox games, tablets, smartphones connected, I will easily hit 1TB before 20th of the month. I am more than happy with this offer @ R250.00. R2949 LTE uncapped with 1TB softcap...well this is madness to pay that!! Same as you, I will stick with Rain...

What do you do between 18:00-23:00?
